Retained the Challenge Trophy

Thriller of a Final

2014 season : Playing as Surrey

Oh Boy...Revenge is Sweet...Just a post back I had mentioned my loss to Yorks in the T20 semis and I was up agst. the same team in the Challenge Trophy finals.

In brief, needing 251 to win my team Surrey were comfortably placed at 185/3 after 38 overs. But disaster struck as I slumped to 200/8. With 51 required of the last 7 overs I thought it was all over.

But J.Sharma-S.Broad did the unbelievable. They put on 25 from the 44th to 47th over. Still a tough task. 26 required in 3 with 2 wkts in hand. But S.Watson conceeding 14 in the 48th over made the task easier. 7 came of the 49th over.

And when Joginder struck a SIX in the last over I screamed so loud that I scared away my mom.:D

And look at what situation I am in :p, in the CC -

In fact, Yorks and Somerset have got to play their last match agst. Warwicks and Worcester who are at the bottom at the table whereas I got to play agst. Essex, to whom I have lost on the previous outing.
Come to think of it, even in the 2013 season I lost to Essex on both occassions.:(

Ok folks, I had the CD in the mail this morning, installed it, patched up to the latest version and we've got game on.

Just for the heck of it I picked an England "Old Boys" XI to take on the Aussies in a 5 match test series.
Chances that we're gonna get trashed are immense, but who cares... I'm a happy camper now.
:happy

solid from chawla and good work from the old boys X1

:clap good job by Chawla, curious he wasn't named man of the match there, also took 5 in the 1st...

Meanwhile things are starting to slip away from us after having it kept tight...
frustrated by Watsons excellent century and determined late order batsmen

Finished my first season with my Youth Team. Didn't end up going *too* badly.

No wins and 6 draws in the county championship, finished last.
1 win and 8 losses in the challenge trophy, finished last.
1 win and 7 losses in the 20 20 cup, finished last.
3 wins and 5 losses in the Pro League, finished 6th =0

3 players made double centuries, with only player coming second in the championship for most runs by 15 (he made 1637) and two players are now contracted with England after their first season.

Overall im pretty happy. My bowling lineup is pathetic, but the batsmen really performed, and im proud of them. I have signed a few new young bowlers, who can hopefully add some spice to the team.
