How are you doing in ICC? (any version)

What Key Spinners you have Hooper?.
Warney!

I have just played the best Test series on ICC and it just proves how exciting a simple game like this can be. Was a hard fought series, 5 Tests in all. The first 2 were drawn, I saved my ass in the first, India lucky to escape in the 2nd. Then in the 3rd. I declared late on day four leaving India with a total of 450 to chase...The made 411 as I claimed the last scalp with just 14 minutes left in the game! This gave me a hard earnt 1-0 series lead. Then in the next Test I played for the draw and got it. Last match, needing a draw to win the series I got bowled out on the first day for 239 and was never in the match as India went on to win easily. So in the end it was drawn 1-1 and it was the best Test series I have ever played on any Cricket game ever due to the smart A.I, the thrilling finishes and tense moments.

Which year are you in?, Seeing as your Batting isn't your problem at all. Key bowlers. Warney must be around 36-37 If you are playing in 2009. Get some bowling techniques for the weak bowlers in your team. Since, Bowling Practice is for those whoa are in Form. IN This Way, You can develop the we'ak bowlers at a value. Any Good All-Rounders You Seen By Chance?.:).:D.

Yeah, thanks for the help.

Im starting 2009 in the CB series. Warne is playing ODI Cricket again now;) So Spin isn't a prob. Hilfenhaus, Tait, Clark and Bracken are all in bad form at the moment, so Im giving them the most Practice and Technique nets. Hopefully that will sort itself out...Shane Watson is my God all-rounder. Scoring hundreds and getting 4-fers.

I have replied in your thread:p

Where's lee?, Injury!??!

You'll have to find a young gun who's fitness is consistent and bowls nicely. Because, Warne may play for an year or two and retire. Maybe, Just give him a match or two matches break, Don't get him playing every match, He may prove expensive. Give Mitchell Johnson a try mate.

Looking forward for your next match.;).

Yeah, Lee is injured with a back injury. Johnson has proved expensive and doesn't get wickets. Ill see what I can do.

Bloody Indians! I did so well all the way through the series, then in the finals I choked....I lost the first one badly, then beat India easily, then lost the last easily. India vs Australia is just too close!

i just started playin icc3 because i only got it a week ago. i'm Yorkshire in my first season and my bowlers are great but my batting lets me down. I'm top of my challenge trophy group and 5th in my county championship group. pro40 and 20/20 haven't started yet

I'm making slow but steady progress on the game, I've played 2 more ashes tests.

Lost the 2nd by 200+ runs. Bowled them out for 215 with munday taking 6 wickets, then I made 357 thanks to 100 from Cook, thanks to big centurys from their numbers 1,4 and 7 they made 584-5 declared. Then I was bowled out for about 250 thanks to 50 from Tom New.

3rd test I won by 3 wickets. Bowled them out for 22 thanks to another Munday 5fer, made 404 all out thanks to 92 from Charlton, 80 from Clarke and 50* from McDonald. They made 239 all out with everyone chipping in and I chased the target of 106 very nervously losing 7 wickets but Cook guided me home despite being 20/5. Munday has 25 wickets in 3 tests :D

Just played the fourth test, was a real good one too and I won it by 5 wickets winning the series. Bowled them out for 310, another Munday 5fer and 119 from their number 5 Leathers. Then I made 375 with hundreds from Cook and McDonald, they followed up with 371 thanks to 100 from thier number 4 York. Munday took another 4 (9 for the match and 34 for the series) and KP got 2-0 off 1 over! Then I chased a tough 303 (i would have given myself about 50/50 chances of getting it) thanks to 93 from Cook and McDonald who both saved me despite a top order collapse again. KP's made only 1 50 in the series so he might be coming to the end of his career.

Just now played the final test. I rested some players as the seris was won and I lost by 50 runs and I only needed to survive 2 more overs to get through a session predicted rain! Munday took 6fer and 5fer making his total for the series 45! My new keeper made 105 and he'll keep his spot and Cook got us close in the second innings with 76 but KP made 51 in wht could be his last innings.

Now played the first ODI, New made 100 as well as Charlton in my 9 wicket win chasing 205. Really undecided on who's the keeper for the tests, News one of the best ODI batsmen in the world but in poor form in tests whilst Oxtons come in and hit a 100 in the tests.

Just finished the 2013 ashes with a 3-1 victory in the series. It was an interesting series with Bulman, Wood and Cook on top form with the bat for the whole series. KP was incredibly poor for the entirity of the first 4 tests with a top score of 21 and then it came to the 5th test and he scored a magnificent 293, which saved his place in the side. That score then seemed to give him a sudden air of confidence and he performed brilliantly in a 3-2 Odi series victory. Phil Mustard was brought in for the Odi series and after a dissapointing start finished the series with scores of 49, 63 and 49.

After the Australia odi series we travel to Sri Lanka for a test and odi series. The tour started well with a comfortable win against Sinhalese thanks to some magnificent batting from KP and some good bowling from Anderson, Munday and surprisingly Luke Wright. With Ken Wood injured i went for Phil Mustard opening the batting with Alastair Cook after his good end to the odi series against Australia. We started the test series well bowling Sri Lanka out for just under 280 with 6 wickets for Jimmy Anderson then we started to go downhill being bowled out for 156 with Mustard getting a golden duck and failures from all of the top order bar Cook. Sri Lanka then batted again and after some dissapointing bowling they were bowled out with a lead of 550 with 2 full days to bat. Defeat was staring us in the face until a nice 100 partnership from Cook and Mustard helped matters until Mustard departed for 53. Cook continued to bat and with some good support from Kevin Pietersen (103) and Ian Bell (67) we batted on and on. With the final day beginning we had 7 wickets in hand with 348 runs to get.

Winning looked out of the picture, but batting for a draw was definetly a possibility. The day commenced with good defence from Cook and good support from Bell, Hughes and Cleef allowed us to get to the final session with 4 wickets in hand. Then Cleef fell bringing Munday in with an hour and a half to bat. Munday fell after making a slowish 16 leaving us 40odd minutes to survive, and without an injured Steve Harmison. Jimmy Anderson made double figures before falling to the spinner. This left us with 6 overs to bat with Alastair Cook unbeaten on 154 and Monty Panesar new at the wicket. After a couple of play and misses from Monty we survived to the last over of the match to be bowled by the impressive Indraisi.

With pressure building all Alastair Cook had to do was bat out the final over of the test to secure a vastly impressive draw batting out 2 days on a turning Sri Lankan wicket. The final over:

1st ball: Indraisi over the wicket, on the stumps, blocked by Cook
2nd ball: Comfortably prodded away by Cook
3rd ball: Driven square- turns down single
4th ball: Knocked away easily
5th ball: Cook comes agonisingly close to throwing the game away playing and missing
6th ball: Final ball of the test. Alastair Cook on 160* just prods the ball away. England have batted out 2 whole days in Sri Lanka scoring 450+ to draw a test match.

What a game it was. I really thought i was going to get hammered but we ended up only a hundred or so away from the target. Brilliant performance from Cook, he really is proving that he should have been in the team years ago. He now has a test match average of over 60 and is constantly improving. What a test match.

Luke Wright! He's normally very average, not even tried him on my England save.

He provides good options with the bat and ball. He'll go out of the side once Ken Wood's fit, but he's been massively impressive since coming into the side. Jimmy Anderson's been the star with the ball this season though, averaging 21 in 2013. Harmison's made a great comeback to the side aswell, he's been massively impressive, always looks dangerous, just a shame he can't bowl spells longer than 7 overs in test matches. Jimmy Anderson regularly opens with an 11-12 over spell. Luke Wright's handy in tests and odi's though, medium pacers seem to be useful in Sri Lanka, Ian Bell takes a few wickets aswell. Worth trying Wright out i reckon.

In 2011, I just won the county and pro40 with Glamorgan, coming RU in twenty20 cup and the challenge trophy. Quite proud of myself:)

On my Middlesex save I've had some players go away on England duty (Joyce, Norman and Strauss)
so I've had problems with openers. I brought Godleman in, reluctantly due to averaging 17 in 4 games and being horribly out of form,
his first innings back is 139! It was on a 'batsmans pitch' though.

-------

After a bit of a good run of games I had some good results.

Roberts scored 180 off of 200 balls as I scored 450 in a day. (See attachment)

I'm top of both CC1 and Pro40 D1. Norman is doing well for England so it looks like I could be short next season of a good player.
Read has come on leaps and bounds (not the keeper a LF bowler), taking 2 5fors one in each comp.

MightyRed

I've just finished my season, won the Pro40 with a 100% record, came 2nd in the CC as Notts won by 11 points, they did beat me a few games before the end of the season. Rashid took 81 wickets and is my current holder for most wickets in a season. Roberts ended up averaging 70 in FC cricket.

Come the start of the window, players left: Ormond, Van Jaarsveld, Morkel (I would've kept him but for price), Hughes and North.

players in:
D Jeet Patel - Indian regen, 24 years old, RFM + RHB, 26 with bat, 19.7 with the ball.
David Hussey
Denny - Regen bowler

I think that's it...

After winning the world cup quite comfortably, and the first test against Sri Lanka, Australia were going great.

Or so i thought....

It's amazing how much a key player actually means to a team, Brett Lee broke a rib in the 2nd Sri Lanka test and will miss 5 weeks..

2nd Test, Sri Lanka - Lost

1st Test, India - Scrappy draw, would have lost if not for a magical 205 from Mr. Cricket.

I have to open the bowling with Johnson and Clark, have just debuted Hilfenhaus (Tait was terribly out of form) and struggling in the spin department.

To update on my 3 game saves...(all normal)

Australia:

Won the first two tests, Watson and Clark being the pick of the players. Ricky copped a broken rib in the first test so Cowan came in. Hodge scored 190 and is doing really well.

England: Ended up drawing the home series vs a strong India side. KP is on fire and almost averages 65 in Tests.

Middlesex: 2 draws in the CC and 2 wins in the first OD trophy. Read hasn't been able to carry over his good form, Lamb took 7-71 but got injured. Compton hit centuries in both OD games. Hussey and Jeet Patel are doing okay, nothing brilliant as yet. Patel outdone by Broad.
