How are you doing in ICC? (any version)

Does anybody want to play this online? I've been working on my Derbyshire save and want to play online but there are very few people in the lobby.

Ashes Series:

Squad:

Phil Hughes
Michael Clarke
Adam Voges
Ricky Ponting
Marcus North
Shane Watson
Mitchell Johnson
Nathan Hauritz
Ben Hilfenhaus
Peter Siddle
Shaun Marsh
Tim Paine
Brett Lee
Michael Hussey
Brad Haddin
Callum Ferguson
Clint McKay
Doug Bollinger

David Warner and Matthew Wade dropped. Haddin and Hussey are back (although still injured for the first few days) and Ferguson, McKay and Bollinger are also added to the squad.

(I forgot to add Katich to the squad)

3 Day Friendly Against Sussex: Sussex 389 a.o (Goodwin 172, Joyce 49, Hauritz 6/114, McKay 3/56) and 2/0 drew Australia 594 a.o (Hughes 158, Hussey 113*, Clarke 89, North 74, Martin-Jenkins 4/104)

3 Day Friendly Against MCC: Australia 643 a.o (Watson 176, Hussey 155, Voges 94, Nelson 3/84) def. MCC 83 a.o (Butt 23, Nelson 21, Hauritz 5/27, McKay 3/17) and 180 a.o. (Nelson 51, Rendall 44, Johnson 5/53, Hauritz 4/76) by an innings and 380 runs.

1st Test: England 595 a.o (Cook 149, Prior 103, McKay 5/144, Watson 2/71) and 120/3 (Strauss 44, Pietersen 33, Hilfenhaus 1/8, McKay 1/34) drew Australia 255 a.o (Watson 64, Hughes 53, Panesar 6/52) and 461 a.o. (Hussey 93, Johnson 73, Anderson 3/125).

What a match that was. They needed 3 runs off the last over of the day, get a single off the first ball. Hilfenhaus gets a wicket next ball and then Trott can't score anything off the last 4 balls. Johnson's and Haddin's partnership in the second innings probably saved us the match. McKay with a fiver on debut and survived 50 balls in the second innings. What a debut for him.

2nd Test: England 271 a.o (Prior 87, Cook 51, McKay 3/45, Johnson 3/64) and 211/4 (Strauss 82, Pietersen 43, Hauritz 3/81) def. Australia 235 a.o (Hussey 62, North 56, Anderson 4/80) and 246 a.o (Hughes 128*, North 22, Anderson 3/78, Broad 2/8) by 6 wickets.

That's all I have played so far of this series. Hauritz got a few wickets in the second innings of that match and has now had figures of 2/191, 0/18, 1/39 and 3/81 over the 2 Tests after taking 6/114, 5/27 and 4/76 in the warmup matches.

3 Day Friendly Against Combined Univs: Australia 658/4 dec. (Paine 221, Hussey 153, Clarke 117*, Voges 106*, Kingsley 2/245) drew Combined Univs 125 a.o. (Ingram 46, Hilfenhaus 5/54, Lee 2/10) and 139/8 (Greaves 34, Kevan 32, Siddle 4/36, Bollinger 3/38)

3rd Test: England 270 a.o. (Bopara 84, Collingwood 73*, Johnson 3/58, McKay 3/62) and 229/4 (Cook 66, Horton 50, Johnson 3/85) def. Australia 330 a.o. (Hughes 111, Johnson 61*, Anderson 4/116, Sidebottom 2/50) and 166 a.o. (Hughes 56, Clarke 32, Anderson 5/53, Onions 2/26) by 6 wickets.

4th Test: Australia 493 a.o (Hussey 180, North 115, Sidebottom 4/98, Anderson 3/135) and 215/5 (Hughes 62, Marsh 39, Onions 3/47) def. England 400 a.o. (Cook 126, Bopara 72, Hauritz 6/145, Watson 2/43) and 307 a.o. (Horton 135, Pietersen 59, Watson 5/55, McKay 4/74) by 5 wickets.

Well it was a great match. They elected to bat first and put 400 on the board, Cook scoring a century while Hauritz took 6 wickets. A third wicket partnership of 236 between Hussey and North really set up the game for me, North making 115 after being stuck in the 90's for a long time and Hussey scored a wonderful 180. A wonderful long spell from Watson bowling 15 over's for 5/55 with McKay supporting with 4/74 bowled them out for 307, giving me 215 or so in 1 session. Hughes and Marsh set the game up putting on a 90 run opening partnership in 18 over's before Marsh went for 39 off 64. North put on 39 off 30 balls at #3 while Hughes went for 62 off 52 balls. Watson and Haddin got us over the line with an over left in the day, Watson hitting 36* off 30 at #6 and Haddin scoring 25* off 15 balls to get a 5 wicket win. What a match.

3 Day Friendly Against MCC: Australia 725/9 dec. (Ponting 215, Hughes 154, North 139, Ferguson 101, Best 6/159) and 256/4 dec. (Ponting 109*, Ferguson 86) def. MCC 142 a.o (Stoddart 32, Nesdale 23, North 5/24, Lee 3/55) and 154 a.o. (Delaney 60*, Nelson 25, Lee 3/30, Bollinger 3/45) by 645 runs.

5th Test: England 399 a.o (Prior 110, Bopara 104, Watson 4/91, Johnson 2/82) and 88/1 (Cook 39*, Pietersen 31*, McKay 1/39) def. Australia 327 a.o (Hussey 97, Ponting 81, Onions 3/61, Anderson 3/113) and 154 a.o. (North 56*, McKay 42, Anderson 5/39, Onions 3/38) by 9 wickets.

Im a Derbyshire fan mainly because I liked the fact that you had to build them up, plus I know someone who used to play 2nd XI for them last year

Hughes is unstoppable :( Averaging 99 in tests after 79 innings and just scored a 202 off 151 in a ODI.

And biggest ODI win I've ever had. Rare occassions I score 300+ and bowl for -100

After making 3/171 against England in the T20 WC, I was reasonably confident. However, at 1/83 in the 10th over, England were looking like they going to at least take it to a close finish. But Brett Lee had different ideas, with Lee removing Morgan, then Pietersen in the same over. After that it was the Watson show, as 4 wickets fell in his first over, including a team hattrick. In the end they were bowled out for 125 and Watson had 6 wickets.

Me and Matt are starting a new Kent save, after my old one screwed up, this time Blake's doing it with us. I'm getting epic deja vu, but its good, good old memories. Here we go again!

Im having fun in my new aussie save which im writing the story for, im actually up to the start of the twenty20 world cup in terms of written updates even though im just starting the SA series in the story

Just finished my 2011 season. Won the county championship for the first time on any ICC :D. It was all thanks to my simply awesome middle order - Samit Patel, Jonathan Christie, and Mark Sheen. All got more than 1,300 runs and were averaging high 60s or low 70s. Ed Joyce was great too opening the batting. Bowling wasn't too shabby either, Amjad Khan picked up 3 10fers/match, and it was a pretty balanced attack overall. Didn't lose any games but did draw 6.

Got back into the first division of the pro league. I think i won the challenge trophy too! :) Over all great season.

I was disappointed with Virender Sehwag as my OS player. He was very 'ordinary' to say the least :p. I forked over 90k for Ajantha Mendis, he has superman like stats. We'll see how that goes...
Also signed some oldies in Alfonso Thomas (34) and Rob Key (32).

Recently gone back to a Middlesex save I've got going on ICC 08, and I am loving my team. We're top of the Championship, and are reigning champions, into the Semi Finals of the Challenge Trophy, and the current Pro40 champs. My strongest XI in FC cricket atm is:

Andrew Strauss
Eoin Morgan
Ed Joyce *
Stuart Hardwick
Dale Benkenstein
Adil Rashid
Shahid Afridi
Phil Mustard +
Tim Murtagh
Kyle Hogg
Tom Smith

Running riot. The bowling attack's not brilliant, but they're doing a stellar job, especially Smith. The 2 leggies have been excellent too. There are 2 stand out players in the side though, those being Stuart Hardwick and Ed Joyce. Hardwick's 24, averages 53 in FC cricket, 53 in OD cricket and 43 in T20's. He's averaging 60 in the Championship this season, with 3 hundreds and 2 fifties, and he's averaging 63 in OD games, with a hundred and 3 fifties.

Those stats are impressive, but they're nothing compared to Ed Joyce's. After 7 FC games, and 9 innings, Joyce has 1118 runs at an average of 139.75. His run of scores in his last 5 FC innings is stunningly good. His scores are as follows: 346, 134, 103, 194 and 201*. In 9 innings he's made 6 hundreds, everytime he's made it to 50 he's gone on and made a century. His 346 was exceptional. He's also averaging 47 in OD games, with a hundred in that form too. I'm amazed he's not been stolen from me by England, who's batting has been terrible. WAG.

I have Hardwick with me at Essex. He's class. Will eventually get called up for England.

I just had the greatest win ever. The screenie should say it all:

Nice to see that Hardwick's class on yours as well. He actually did get stolen from me by England just after that post was made, and didn't perform brilliantly in the ODi's he played. Making 0 and 0 :laugh. For some reason England picked Steve Stafford as well, who was a guy that was playing 2nd XI cricket for me, he'd played 1 FC game this season, making just 21 runs. The season before he'd played alot of the season, but in List A cricket he was averaging just 26, and he got picked for England on the back of that =/ He performed as expected, scoring just 53 runs in 6 ODi innings at an average of 8.83 :laugh Class. Back to the Middlesex 2nds you go Steve.

Nice win for the Bangladeshi's as well btw. Pretty incredible to win a Test against the Aussies, having been bowled out so cheaply first time round!

Edit: Finished the 2011 season, had a pretty good season. Won the Championship, the FP Trophy and the Pro40 and lost in the final of the T20 Cup in the last over against Hampshire. Ed Joyce was the leading run-scorer in the country. Finishing with 1815 FC runs at an average of 90.75 with 8 hundreds and 2 fifties. He also managed 986 OD runs at 54.78 with 2 centuries. Awesome player.

The 2012 season has seen quite a few new signings, and a couple of releases. Afridi's gone, replaced by South African quick bowler Ruan Pietersen, who has 306 FC wickets at 18.87 and 155 OD wickets at 20.33. I also signed Tim Bresnan, Graham Onions, James Harris and Dirk Nannes, which as really boosted what was the weakest part of my side last season. I've now got Pietersen, Smith, Harris, Bresnan, Rashid, Nannes, Onions, Hogg, Murtagh and a young regen RFM Chris Speed. Nice.

My XI is now:

Andrew Strauss
Eoin Morgan
Ed Joyce *
Stuart Hardwick
Nick Compton
Adil Rashid
Phil Mustard +
Tim Bresnan
James Harris
Tom Smith
Ruan Pietersen

Loving that team. Smith gets in ahead of Onions and Murtagh on the basis of his season last season. He took more wickets than both of them at a much better average. I'll see how he goes though, if he doesn't pick up wickets then one of those 2 mentioned could slip into the side in his place. Have to see how it goes. Excited to see how Ruan Pietersen goes, he's got incredible stats and an opening pair of Pietersen and Harris, averaging 18 and 21 respectively is a far more exciting prospect than Murtagh and Smith opening that's for sure!

Rashid has to be the most amazing player in the game. The last 3 seasons (2018, 2019 and 2020) he has single handedly carried my Kent team. I'm not exaggerating either. We went undefeated in CC Last season with 13 wins and 3 draws - Rashid missed 2 games which we only drew. Takes 100 wickets every season and averages 30 with the bat. I even put him in opener a few games ago and so far hes hit 1 ton and 3 fifties (He's opened in 3 or 4 games)

For example; I make 170 in PL. Not good. Rashid hit 41* of those. They are 1/80, Rashid comes on and takes 6/28. We win by 24 runs. I love Rashid.

Edit: Actually has two tons opening. His first one was a career high 169* where he carried his bat and scored more then half the runs.
