It wont work out. Didn't any of these idiots work out that it would kill cricket!?

To put it simply;
No kid would want to be a bowler growing up. They will all want to follow in the footsteps of there heroes who are smashing sixes. They wont want to follow in the footsteps of someone getting hammered out of the ground.

It only takes 1 second of thinking and actually using your brain. No one would want to be a bowler and you cant play cricket without bowlers.

Test cricket is not dying, and it never will. It is much more entertaining and competitive then Twenty20 cricket. Twenty20 is extremely boring, especially considering if you hit 180-200 in your twenty20 and you take 2 early wickets its practically game over. In test cricket, if your losing after the first innings a well structured and smartly batted innings can save you, or if your fielding, a determined and fierce session or 2 can get you right back into the game.

Actually stop and think about it for a second. Twenty20 wont save cricket, nor will it become the most favored format.

T20 needs to be controlled and BCCI's evil reign over cricket must come to an end for the sake of Cricket's future

It simply isn't.
Chances of a batting sides comeback 1 in 2.
In T20 same thing 1 in 30 and I remember seeing that type twice
Once in the T20 final
And in the last league match of KKR.
The situation for KKR chasing 180 and were 105-7 with Dada at one end and Umar Gul came in and changed the face of the game.

But then you get like that always once in a Blue Moon.

Now Test Cricket-
India-166/6 Final Score 295/10

End result India won

Pakistan-39/6 Final score 221/10

End result
Pakistan won

Can you ever see that in T20?
No,no and a big no.

Can you see pacers bowling pace, swing, cut, angle, length in a T20?
No.

Can you see class in a T20?
No.

The only thing you get in a T20 is adrenaline and that is what cricket isn't about.

So to those who say T20 is Cricket's warrior
piss off!!

At first I thought you were arguing against me then I realised you were with me. The stats you have given are useful. As you see comebacks are 10x more likely and possible in Test cricket which means a victory is never assured.

Remember when West Indies chased that 450+ against the Aussies in 04. There line-up compared to ours. It seems pretty much impossible but they did it. If we set them 250 to win in a twenty20, they wouldn't stand a chance simply because they cant build there innings!

Ask any international cricketer (except for maybe Dhoni - other threads) when they would rather recover a Test match out of the fire or Twenty20 and they will all say the Test match.

Katich's hundred today would of been so satisfying because of the tough conditions and because no one could get a start.

it isnt the future of cricket. its the future of making new cricketing nation, viewers, making cricket bigger. (which is really need, if you care about cricket.)

^^ and Neo people who hasn't watched cricket while growing up wont understand those crap, but they will understand bowl flying out of the park, exiting run chase, the dancers, the new stylish shots, how bowlers can turn the game around .

no one wants to play 5 day long game if they dont actually understand what is cricket all about. so obviously they dont find it interesting.

only the people who actually know what cricket is all about, will wait to see for 5 days for those reverse swing, the defensive bating and pulling the score from 40/7 to 400, and all that.

It really is not needed, cricket was fine how it was

but cricket has to grow, it needs to. it cant be played between 5 countries only. except those 5/6 countries no one will give a damn.

If cricket has to grow, it will grow with Hong Kong sixes.

It has nothing to do with Test cricket or ODIs, its a totally different form of game that will help people actually understand this beautiful game. :)

It was fine for 100+ years. Also there are more then 5/6 countries in Tests. Eng, RSA, Pak, Ind, Bang, NZ, Aus and SL. Plus I think countries like Canada, Ireland and Zimbabwe would much rather play Test cricket then 20/20, it is much easier for a player to build a career in Test Cricket.

People like you with your hit, bang, whallop mentality are what is the problem. If it ain't broken, don't fix it.

BOycott CL T20...Ban IPL....For the sake of test cricket..End the evil Regime of the BCCI:mad:

Its better they learn through Test cricket not mindless big hitting on pitches that offer nothing to the bowlers. Like I said in my first post MacLovin, are killing cricket. The more people that learn the game through Twenty20, and adopt it the worse because then we will have less and less bowlers coming through the ranks and cricket will just be boring with the quality of bowlers going down and batsmen going up.

That is true. The quality of cricket worsened a lot. With all these powerplays, free hits, flat pitches and stuff and T20 is making it even worse than that.

ICC made a good move by creating this Hong Kong Sixes tourney. Now many of you will be against me but it helps in globalising cricket a lot and it doesnt really affect the way ODIs or tests are being played.

Sending retired players to play HK sixes will be the key for the youngsters not to lose their skills for the sake of the future.

Now How will HK sixes help globalising cricket?

Its just a 5 over per side game, it will help people understand the basic stuffs of the game. Like what is over, what are runs, what is a boundary, what is a six, what is a single, what is a double, what is wide, what is no ball and etc. :D
