Hunting Tigers ~ Day 3, FC Game Review.

Welcome back to Hunting Tigers club for the review of final day of this FC game. With just last day remaining, the Tigers got all out for 537 trying to play some silly shots. Actually, captain's thoughts were to declare as soon as the first over was finished, but it didn't turn out like that. Anyways, with comfortable lead of 235, bowlers came out with tough job of getting all the ten wickets on this single day.

Bowlers Once Again Did It For Tigers !

With some tensions for home team in getting them all out, opening bowlers started off with very determined and attacking manner. The captain of Hunting Tigers wanted only the attacking field set for his bowlers. He told his bowlers to try and tempt the batsmen for making mistakes with such an attacking field set.

The very first ball of Macdonald produced the wicket which delighted the captain,Alshaun and his team to extreme extent. Once again, Macdonald got the wicket in his very first over. This is being the third time for Macdonald to get a wicket in very first over in this season. :)

Soon, wickets started coming at regular intervals. Love also did not allow the batsmen to settle in. The skip was very much delighted to see the response of his bowlers to his request.

Each and every bowler of Hunting Tigers bowled as per the field set by their captain and were very much successful. Batsmen just had no clue on this attacking bowling approach as well as the aggressive fielding approach. It seemed to be a wonderful captaincy by Alshaun.

The match soon finished with rajputs getting all out for just 111 which was completely otherway to the expectations which the home team had on their visitors. Every bowler had wickets in their wicket column. Love was the best pick of all. He got 3 wickets for just 18 runs in his ten overs. It resulted in a dominating victory for Hunting Tigers over the rajputs team. :happy

The opponent is slightly better than Hunting Tigers, but Tigers are expected to fight for the win to get a sweet revenge on Pelpal for the Twenty 20 defeat.

Hunting Tigers ~ OD and Cup games, A Review.

Welcome back to Hunting Tigers club to know what happened in OD league which got over last friday and Cup game which got over today (Sunday).

To be abstract, Hunting Tigers club was filled with full of frustrations last friday night because of loosing the league game against a slightly better team by a close margin. The club is yet to recover from this shock.

With conditions completely in favourable for the home team bowlers, the captain of Tigers put the opponents into bat without any hesitation. Infact, it worked out extremely well in the first innings.

The opening bowlers roared at the opponent's top order and destroyed them. They picked 4 crucial wickets in first 15 overs which indeed brought lot and lots of excitements to the home team.

Lungile tries something special, but is made to look foolish as the wickets spread like butter.

Bowlers continued dominating even after the first 15 overs. They never allowed batsmen to settle down. At one stage, the opponents were down 5 wickets for just a score of 79 runs.

But Singh lali, with his heroic performance, did a great rescue work and took his team to 185. Lali gave many frustrations to the home team bowlers and the players looked happy though after restricting the opponents below 200 which was their(Tiger's) first target.

With just 186 to defend, the Hunting Tigers batsmen got over confident and as a result, they just gifted their wickets. Bishop, Alshaun and Malik all got dismissed by their irresponsible shot selection. Hunting Tigers got into massive pressure after loosing these three wickets.

Bartlett and Field played some matured innings and Bartlett too was sent back to pavillion. Hunting Tigers were 118 for the loss of 4 wickets which still looked very much possible for Tigers especially after a good partnership from Paki and Field.

Then Paki also got dismissed and the situation(169/5) still looked in favour of the home teams. With well settled batsmen at the crease and 5 wickets in hand, the runs which were required ( < 20 runs ) looked very very easy to get.

The things turned entirely in other way. Lower order batting just collapsed horribly and Hunting Tigers were all out for 181. They fell just short of 4 runs.. One single boundary would have made a difference.:mad::mad::mad:


And that's the end of the match. Pelpal won by 4 runs.

" Our bowlers did a fantastic job but it was our batting which turned us down in this match. In particular, some batsmen who were needed to play their role proper miserably failed by gifting their wickets! ", feels the manager and thus indirectly cursed Malik and Alshaun,to be particular, for this loss. :mad:

Its the first loss in league games for Hunting Tigers after 25 consecutive victories and this bad moment is ever ever to be remembered by the club.

With all the frustrations, Hunting Tigers played their cup game today(Sunday) against one of the developing teams. Its to be noted that this was the second round of this cup game and opponent's strength seems to much lower than Tiger's reporters summary. Hence the Tigers went to this game without Love, Macdonald and Clarke, who were all frontline pace bowlers for the team. Bishop was also rested.

Also, Hamed was wantedly made to open the bowling. Some spectators even thought that manager went mad for making the spinner to bowl the new ball.

But the first ball produced a wicket. This suprised everyone including the manager and the captain of Hunting Tigers. Added to this, some more suprises came up when bowlers struck with their regular wickets,

 	 	Bowled him! A slightly quicker ball from Mulligan that caught the batsman totally by surprise. Malik's gone and so has his off stump.

 	 	Fantastic spin bowling from Bolland! The ball drifted down the leg side and spun back sharply. Bowled Moodley around his legs!

 	 	He's gone for the big heave, but it's gone way up in the air. Malik gets himself underneath it and pockets the chance with glee. Out![/COLOR]

And finally Hunting Tigers restricted the opponents for 189/9 in 50 overs. This target looked very much gettable with indepth batting order but the manager was not ready to come up with any predictions like the last game.

Hunting Tigers lost both the openers, Bartlett and Rampaul. But Malik and Alshaun played their responsible knocks at right time. They played some magnificent shots and started dominating their(Opponent's) bowlers with regular boundaries and fast scoring rate. Hunting Tigers reached their target at ease even before the 30 overs.

Good placement there from Malik as he flicks the ball just wide of the man at mid wicket. The race is on between the fielder and the ball and his diving stop just manages to gather the ball inside the rop

Those runs made Hunting Tigers to proceed to third round in this cup game.. Hunting Tigers won by 8 wickets.


And that's the end of the match. HuntingTigers won by 8 wickets.

" Its good feeling to proceed to next round in cup game. Though Alshaun and Malik dominated today, they have to prove their talents by playing well against big teams and not by hitting those wounded snakes! :rolleyes: ", feels the manager.

So, no problems for Hunting Tigers in winning today's game in dominating way. But its nowhere the compensation for the league game's loss. More and more tough games coming up later this season. And have to see how this Hunting Tigers team take those challenges.

Unlucky in league game mate, I had a match like that once - I was really frustrated to lose to the league leaders by about 6 runs - from then on, my season fell apart, lets hope that doesnt happen to yoU!

Hunting Tigers Vs Mann ~ Day 1, 2nd FC Game Review.

Welcome back to Hunting Tigers club to know about what happened in today's FC game which is the second game FC for Tigers. The team went with full strength squad as the opponent seemed to be of putting a equal fight with Tigers team. So, the manager was not willing to take any risks but was worried very much about the PFLs of the players.

It was once again Alshaun winning the toss for Hunting Tigers. With green conditions and cloudy overcast conditions, Alshaun, without any hesitation sent the opponents to bat first. :)

The most wonderful looking cover drive by Singh... but he missed the ball completely... OUT!

Once again, Macdonald did the trick for his team in very first over by getting a wicket. Hunting Tigers seem to develop this(taking a wicket in first over) as a habbit these days. ;) The celebrations continued for the entire Tigers team as well as for the fans. Its a away game but still, there are many supporters for the Tigers team which is indeed a good news for the club.

But this happiness was short lived. The bowlers were completely in attacking mode with their attacking field set but the second wicket pair, somehow, played very steadily and started to frustrate the bowlers. The partnership grew strongly and looked very dangerous for the Tigers team. Alshaun even gave chance to his vice captain, Malik to bowl few over in attempting for a breakthrough. This pair added 124 runs partnership.

More than the runs on the board, this slow runrate of around 2.8 frustrated the bowlers even more. The opponents were having no hurry to score runs.:rolleyes:

Hamed was then brought in by the skipper. He did the wonders for Hunting Tigers once again. :D

That's easy for Bishop and Hamed picks up the wicket of Norris.

44.4 W Hamed to Chanderpaul

A bit more pace on that one and it's hit Chanderpaul on his boot. An enormous shout for LB as Hamed, Bishop and all the fielders go up in synch. The umpire is quick to nod whilst raising his finger.

These two back to back wickets in two deliveries applied the pressure back on the opponents. Alshaun was finally relieved. He operated with his regular bowlers and they never allowed the batsmen to settle in well after this.

The wickets came in very regular intervals. It was Hamed this time, who initiated the collapse. Thus, Hunting Tigers were able to restrict the opponents below 200. (198)

The opening batsmen for Tigers arrived without any pressure. This pair had lot of expectations to build a good opening partnership because of their recent inconsistent form. But the expectations were shattered when Bartlett was dismissed.

Bartlett has just clobbered it! six runs all the way!

How is that? He's given him out LBW! The umpire must have seen something I didn't.

Its so frustrating to see a batsman to go after hitting a huge six in very second ball of this innings. Also, it seemed to be a poor umpiring decision. :spy Anyways, Bartlett went to pavilion and out of form batsman, Malik arrived with huge pressure.

6.4 6 Ali to Malik

Good line, good length, but straight back over Ali's head! SIX!

This SIX created hopes in everyone that Malik has got back his good form. But it was too shattered when Malik threw away his wicket once again in a irresponsible way.:mad:

I think everybody heard that nick to Hitish. Malik didn't even wait around for the umpire to raise his finger.


Its very frustrating to see soft dismissals like this, that too, in crucial time. :mad: The rumours were out soon that Malik might be taken off from his vice captaincy post. He has been playing some horrible and irresponsible cricket these days. He has definitely created anger among his captain and his manager. Hence rightly, he went to the dressing room with his head down.

Once again, it was Alshaun who stood up and overcame the pressure situation with the help of Bishop in other end.

Alshaun, with his usual style, dominated the bowlers. He continued his aggressive approach and helped in accelerating the scorecard at a faster rate. In other end, Bishop firmly rooted to the crease and gave all the support which his captain needed. Bishop also played some magnificent shots all over the ground and finally, these two provided a good entertainment to the crowd and took the team towards the end of Day1. Alshaun reached his fifty towards the end of day's play and recieved warm applauses from everyone.

Hunting Tigers Trail by 67 Runs.

Thus, Hunting Tigers got into a good position with the initial efforts from the bowlers earlier and rescue work by Alshaun/Bishop later.

Hunting Tigers Vs Mann ~ Day 2, 2nd FC Game Review.

Welcome back to Hunting Tigers club to know what happened on Day2 of this second FC game. With a good position, Hunting Tigers batsmen, Bishop and Alshaun arrived with great confidence. The crowd support was excellent for Tigers eventhough its not a home game.

Tigers Declare after a 200 Lead!

Bishop, who was about to reach 50, raised his bat after getting that half century and recieved warm applauses from his skip and everyone there. Bishop's six soon after that, brought all the entertainment back for the spectators.

39.3 6 Ali to Bishop

Bishop has smashed that one straight over the head of Ali and...... yes, out of the stadium. That was the biggest hit I've seen in my career!

Yes, this huge six almost broke the glasses of a car which was standing outside the stadium. :laugh Just a narrow miss. Ali, who got both the wickets, striked once again by getting rid of captain, Alshaun.

41.1 W Ali to Alshaun

He's out LBW. Good bowling, Ali, very good bowling indeed.

This was a huge blow for Hunting Tigers. Alshaun walked back to pavilion and recieved applauses from everyone. The opponent team's captain was finally relieved to get rid of this skip as he was well aware of the huge knock by Alshaun in previous FC game.

42.5 6 Tucker to Field

Field has smacked that rank ball way up into the sky. I think I'm going to have to forget the binoculars with this man at the crease and get the telescope out instead; a monster hit!

Field started off in a confident manner by hitting a massive SIX!!! Its another monster hit by Hunting Tigers batsmen. They seem to do it at ease too. Bishop and Field took the situation from there with a steady pace and another partnership frustrated the opponents.

60.3 1 Ali to Bishop

Chops it away but can't beat Chanderpaul, who holds the batsmen to a single.
And that's a century for Bishop! Well played indeed Sir!

The first ever century for this young man came soon with a simple single. He raised his bat proudly towards his fans and dressing room. What an innings this has been by Bishop! :clap Well played and wonderful entertainment too.

Another century stand between Bishop and Field strengthened the position of Hunting Tigers further. Bowlers were hunting badly for a breakthrough which finally came from Padayachie.

Padayachie pulls out the big inswinging yorker. Field had no clue!


A great delivery to end a fantastic partnership. Field was clearly decieved by that wonderful delivery and hence got dismissed. He failed to reach his 50 but indeed, have played a crucial role in this innings along with Bishop. Paki arrived at the crease.

Paki and Bishop developed another good looking partnership which frustrated the opponents too. Both the batsmen were going without any hurry. Finally, a bolwer called Norris brought a breakthrough with a big wicket of Bishop.

That's a brave decision by the umpire, looked like it might have been sliding down leg to me. Bishop certainly looks upset, but he's got to go.

This was a great upset to the team because Bishop became the victim of the poor umpiring which is becoming quite popular these days. Anyways, tired Bishop returned to pavilion after displaying a fantastic performance. Brilliant innings came to an end in an unfortunate manner. :mad:

Partnership after Partnership really played a key role for Hunting Tigers. Another great and steady partnership between Clarke and Paki took the Tigers to cross the 400 mark and also the lead of above 210 runs.

Captain, Alshaun without any hesitation, called the players to dressing room and hence declaration came as expected. It was once again, Paki remained unbeaten on 81 and missed to reach the century because of declaration by Alshaun which happened the same even in first FC game.

Oh my! Singh has lost his furniture! Clean gone.

Hunting Tigers bowlers came to field with still plenty of works to do for their team. Macdonald once again got a wicket in very first over. The first two wickets went very quickly within first 15 overs putting the opponents further in trouble.

The third wicket too went soon .. And after that, a steady partnership developed for the fourth wicket and they took the team towards the end of Day2's play.

Maybe just end of day reviews without the higlights? Must be a lot of work. Still nice though :)

Hunting Tigers Vs Mann ~ Day 3, 2nd FC Game Review.

Welcome back once again to know what happened for Hunting Tigers on the final day of this FC game. With already a good lead by Tigers, the bowlers arrived with full of confidence to get rid of remaining seven wickets within that day to claim the victory.

HuntingTigers won by an innings and 125 runs !

The opponents were 81 for three when the day 3 began. Macdonald and Love started off the bowling. And there were lot of loud shouts with joy from Tigers side fans after that. Its because, bowlers once again outsmarted the opponents in their usual style..i.e, by initiating the collapse.

Macdonald and Love never allowed the batsmen to settle in.. Infact they(bowlers) made the opponents clueless. :what The wickets came in for Tigers at very rapid intervals and opponents were dismissed altogether for just 87 runs which suprised everyone in the stadium.

Batsmen were just able to add 6 runs on Day 3 and lost all the remaining 7 wickets. It brought the second FC victory for Hunting Tigers by an innings and 125 runs.

The whole team recieved standing applauses when they left the field. Bishop, who made 142 runs was awarded the MOTM for a splending batting performance.

" Our bowlers did a fantastic job in both first as well as second innings. Its just batting which need immediate attention to improve with a big match against RIGS coming up next week." feels the manager of Hunting Tigers, Alshaun.

Hunting Tigers ~ OD and Cup games, A Review.

Welcome back to Hunting Tigers club to know what happened in OD league which got over last friday and Cup game which got over today (Sunday).

To be abstract, Hunting Tigers had nice week overall with FC win, OD win and a cup game win too. :)

The match was a away game. Its also to be noted that opponents had no manager to guide them. So, Hunting Tigers manager rested the key bowlers once again and gave chance to Baloch, Mulligan, Bolland to play against those worthless in form players. ;)

Suprisingly, even this unreliable bowling lineup destroyed the opponent. Oponents didn't even withstand 10 overs. Opening bowlers, Baloch and Mulligan dominated the batsmen and they(batsmen) had no clue completely. Baloch in particular reached is career best figures of taking 7 wickets for just 12 runs. The target was just 27 runs and it made the entire Tigers team happy.

The chase did not last long.. it ended up within 3 overs and the opening batsmen exploded the bowlers to finish off the match very quickly within 3 overs. ( 15 balls to be more exact ;) )

And that's the end of the match. HuntingTigers won by 10 wickets.

This was an another away game too but Hunting Tigers got around 59K for participating in this cup game. This was indeed a good news to the club. Also, opponents had a regular manager and they seemed to be of equal strength when compared to Tigers team.

So, Hunting Tigers went to this match with their full strength squad and put the opponents to bat first after winning the toss. Its to be noted that pitch was cracked which Hunting Tigers don't have much experience on this cracked condition. This initially created some tension among the manager but later it was relieved when bowlers of Tigers once again outsmarted their opponents.

 	 	Got him! He's got to go. That was as plumb as the plumbiest of plumbs. Love trapped him right in front of the stumps. No hesitation from the umpire.

 	 	Padayachie steps down the pitch and lofts it high. Everyone seems to lose it, except Alshaun, who sets himself well and clutches the ball close to his chest.

15.3 	[B]W[/B]	Hamed to Paki
 	 	Paki tries to sweep and completely miscues the shot, and the ball takes off the bails. OUT!

19.4 	[B]W	[/B]Hamed to Thatcher
 	 	He's been caught out by the slower ball there and it's looped way up into the air; he must be caught! Macdonald juggles it! And it's caught!

22.3 	[B]W[/B]	Wotton to Craig
 	 	A lazy shot by Craig. No foot movement to a ball that could easily have been left alone and an edge through to the keeper is the result.

25.3 	[B]W[/B]	Clarke to Lumley
 	 	A ferocious in-swinger. Lumley had absolutely no chance. Bowling from the top drawer.

25.2 	[B]W[/B]	Clarke to Naidoo
 	 	He was nick-named 'The Wall' at school, apparently. He must be a Floyd fan, because its certainly not because of his defensive shots.

28.6 	[B]W[/B]	Wotton to Tau
 	 	Oh, that's terrific keeping! Taken brilliantly down the leg side by Bishop and he whips the bails off in a flash. Tau looks baffled. It's as if he didn't even know he was out of his crease.

Bowlers never allowed the batsmen to settle down. Wickets came in at regular intervals. Captain, Alshaun was very much pleased with the efforts taken by the bowlers. Each and every bowler of Hunting Tigers contributed in destroying the opponents. The pitch was very much in favour for Tigers as they(bowlers) were getting nice movement of the ball which made opponents to be clueless about the swing/movement.

Finally, the opponents were finished off for just 130 runs. This became another easy task for Hunting Tigers. The batsmen resumed with the chase. Bartlett lost his concentration and gave away his wicket but Malik and Bishop finished the rest for their team. Both played some fantastic/matured shots and guided the team to victory. Its to be noted that victory runs came in the form of a huge SIX!!! :)

Hunting Tigers Won by 9 Wickets and move to next round in Cup game.

" It was a fantastic team effort today with lot of commitments throughout. This helped us to move to the next round in Cup game. Hope we maintain the same team spirit in front of our home crowd for the huge match against RIGS, this Friday! :upray ", feels the manager of Hunting Tigers.
