Mmm I think I know that club, anyway that is one way of looking at it. Another way is that people, some people might, just be being friendly. Is there anything wrong with that?
Personally, I like the idea of having a thread where people can say "Off for exams, be back in 6 weeks" or going on Holiday, as it can open conversation. If the quality is good, fine. But I don't like "Be back in 36 hours" kind of posts.

It would be nice to have a status like Facebook. Which we can update easily and those who care would know what we are doing and other who doesn't shouldn't be visiting our profile anyway.
