ICC Awards 2005

KP has to get emerging player, the only one capable of challenging is Bell, but the ashes wasnt too good for him, and KP will of been seen as amazing after his mamoth 157.

I'd say the only one capable of challenging was AB de Villiers myself. But how ridiculous not to include the Ashes in the criteria.

What about Strauss for test player. 600+ runs in RSA did well in the Ashes 2 centuries.

I think Rahul Dravid has had enough last year .. as he deseved them ....

<< I AM NOT BEING OFFENSIVE OK >>

Four players - Inzamam, Gilchrist, McGrath and Ponting - have been nominated for all three senior individual awards for their performances during the judging period from 1 August 2004 to 31 July 2005. www.icc-cricket.com

Inzamam, Gilchrist, McGrath and Ponting that is somthing to be proud of guys ;)

Ooops! yes im sorry, i forgot he was innit :p

Yea he has a good chance, he has a good technique and is capable of becoming a future south africa batsmen and maybe keeper

But still KP would win it for me!

PS - stevie, keep up the good work :p

hes a lazy bum really the rest of you :p

I've checked out some of the stats for the period they'll be judging on, and this is what I'd like to see:

Player of the year: Inzamam-ul-Haq - His stats for both forms of the game surprised me.

Test Player - Ricky Ponting/Glenn McGrath

ODI Player - Andrew Flintoff/Yousuf Youhana

Emerging player of the year - Kevin Pietersen

Remember, the Ashes stats are not inlcuded.

S Chanderpaul 18 innings, 4 50s, 3 100s, 1001 @ 66.73
R T Ponting 18 innings, 5 50s, 2 100s, 915 @ 70.38
B C Lara 13 innings, 1 50, 4 100s, 825 @ 63.46
Inzamam-Ul-Haq 13 innings, 3 50s, 3 100s, 721 @ 65.55

G D McGrath 476.4 overs, 68 wickets @ 17.13
A Kumble 612.1 overs, 64 wickets @ 28.34
S K Warne 518.2 overs, 62 wickets @ 24.77
D Kaneria 580.4 overs, 60 wickets @ 31.47
Harbhajan Singh 457 overs, 48 wickets @ 27.25

There are two players who have been miles ahead. McGrath and Kallis. Simple.

Maybe they will split it and award it to both of them...I didn't realise McGrath had such a dominating year! 4 of the top 5 wicket takers are spinners, shows the lack of pace bowling talent around

Not really, spinners will always bowl more overs.
