azhar ali should be in the test team of the year imo.

I think when you consider that the last 12 months has seen a spate of 4 day tests a little more value needs to be given to some of the runs azhar ali ground out. his knock againts england in the 3rd was maybe the one that made the headlines but his top scoring 68 in the 2nd was made over 4 hours on a quickly crumbling pitch and I think being able to make england wait to bat so long played a bit part in ajmal and rehman being able to spin them out so cheaply.

Yeah , Azhar should be in the test team and alos because he is a valueable player ;He can knock 100 ;He can be a finisher ;Can play a great valueable innings .

Just another Ajmal stat, he has taken, in all cricket combined, 120 wickets...second place is 84, that is huge.

Ajmal not nominated for the player for the year whereas Philander is? No offence to Philander but he isnt played all the formats of the game and his spectacular performance at best deserves him a TEST player of the year nomination. Not nominated for the ODI or TEST player is just insulting.

I dont know what defines an emerging player of the year, but the way I see it seems like the guy who had a break-thorough year and if Azhar Ali he should be a no-brainer for the award.


Pakistanis should boycott this awards. Absolutely ridiculous.

There is simply no one as consistent in all three formats as Saeed Ajmal. ICC is a joke and PCB must boycott it to atleast show that they care for their stars. Obvious choices are Saeed Ajmal and Azhar Ali.

Hafeez is another choice in Test team of the year. Scoring 1064 runs in 12 Test at an excellent average of 53.2 and also have 15 wickets at an average of 30.

^Saeed Ajmal is good and consistent, I agree but Azhar Ali plays one or two good knocks. He is over rated and should be pulled out of the ODI team to give a batsmen with more potential and better strike rate a chance

We are talking about Test matches and Azhar is pretty consistent in Tests. he is not at all over rated atleast when your batting is so much fragile that any bowling lineup can rip them apart.

Also, if PCB does all this ----, they will be definitely sidelined for many awards to come- and the ultimate losers for this "boycotting" will be the players of Pakistan, because 90% of the the world sees who bags the award, just 50% of the world sees who has been nominated and just 10% knows who deserve it.

Saeed Ajmal easily my cricketer of the year. ICC not surprisingly have overlooked yet another star, following their debacle last year when they initially overlooked Graeme Swann.

Also a tad surprised there ain't any English nominees, especially for the limited overs segment where they're #1 ATM. Thought Finny would make it tbh

No its not over action. When everybody in the world can see that a player who should have won the ICC player of the year award is not even in the list and ICC is doing nothing about it then you must boycott such dummy awards.

A boycott would be useless but the fact that every cricket fan I've met and a few commentators etc have all said how non sensical it is to not even nominate Ajmal. Most people involved in the game, fans and anyone without any sort of prejudice understand the awards is a farce without Ajmal.
