ICC Champions Trophy 2013 - England & Wales

and India in commading position now, Pakistan in trouble :(

Why does it matter, Pakistan don't deserve to get through. Even if they do, they will be destroyed by a much better team. It is less embarassment for Pakistan, if they don't get through

That was some proper banter that Kohli got from Pollard and Gayle but he replied well. However, he missed a straight ball from Narine. Kohli has looked good so far in the tournament but just not getting a big score.

His role was to play quicky, and get the Indian score above the par-score. But rain is looming. He has done that. And even if the rain comes, India will still win. The attacking game, is not his ideal game.

Rain or not, West Indies are looking down the barrel. Only a miracle can turn the match into their favor and that does not happen everyday. Sarwan needs to really shrug off the rust if West Indies are to succeed in the ODIs.

Well India were already above the par score when Rohit and Dhawan were batting. India was 52 runs ahead so Kohli's role was to just keep the scoreboard moving as he has done in the past.

----------

It's probably just me that is expecting too much from him I guess.

----------

What a shot that was from Dhawan!

Dhawan is blossoming in to a great player. Bad signs for Viru and Gambhir. They have to work real hard to make a comeback in to the side.

----------

I think the one think I love theis and most Indian batting innings is. No matter what happens, they keep the run rate constant. Keeping it a 6.5+ at oval is a task and a half in itself.

----------

Admittely, West indies bowling isn't the best. But there has a boundary almost every over.

----------

Kemar Roach against Pakistan 3/28
against India 0/43 in 6 overs so far

That tells a massive story.

I agree. If Jerome Taylor can solve his fitness issues, he can add more teeth to our attack. The seamer trio of Roach, Rampaul and Taylor would be a treat to watch.

dhawan is reminding me of dilshan when he entered that outrageous run of form in 2009, just doesn't seem like he'll get out before hitting a century.

cue him getting out.

Still have very fond memories of that spell he bowled vs ENG at Kingston, what a talent he looked, shame the injuries got the best of him. :(

Rain suspends play...Not a problem for India since they will win the match even by D/L method.....

No. I want them to comeback and have Dhawan get his 2nd consecutive hundred. He has been totally outstanding, and deserves that century!

Rohit clicking two games in two? Am I dreaming or what? Both Rohit and Dhawan were rocking. This is a rare occasion where I loved Kohli's aggression. It was a fitting riposte to that "covered mouth (I am trying to avoid lip reading)" Pollard and the big burly man Gayle. That pull for four by Kohli after Gayle gestured Rampaul to aim for his head, was BREATHTAKING!!!

A semifinal spot is a formality here! Never thought India would be in such a dominant position and make the semifinals with such authority. But its just half done. Need to keep it going.

Good observations mate! The above comment was just an observation... Yes I too do want Dhawan to get his 2nd ton in his 2nd match.... Good Playing by all the Indians who came to the crease.... Kohli played all the balls except the one he got out well he was too late with the shot so the the inside edge and stumps crashing, DK played sensibly too... Overall a good game for India... And I have to mention the sportsmanship of the Windies here...Hats Off to them!

What a find Dhawan looks to be, but like with other potential finds, it's where Dhawan goes from here that really matters.

This might be a bit over the top and marginally delusional, but with the limited thought I've given to all this, I reckon Dhoni could truly be called "one of the greatest ODI captains" if he lifts the trophy come June 23rd. The highlight here ofc is how drastically different the side that won the WC in 2011 is to this side who if I'm not wrong look to be favorites to finish winners.

Yeah! Dhawan gets his well deserved ton!! Way to go!!

----------

Now I want Dk to get his 50... :)

----------

Yea...My wish came true... am very happy! Start music :)

What a scintillating win this by India! Truly dominating, and a perfect finish where Dhawan got his century and Karthik got to his 50! Well done Dhawan for eschewing his shots to let Karthik get to his own milestone....

India's top order right now looks set in stone atleast till the end of this tournament. Rohit, Dhawan, Kohli and Karthik should continue from here on. I am excited about Karthik's renaissance and I am hoping he continues these performances. Maybe the day might not be far when he is considered as a specialist batsman for the test side too.

And special to note - this is Dhawan's third consecutive international hundred. After his debut test century in Mohali, he didn't play any other international games. So he has scored 3 hundreds in consecutive matches in international cricket. Wow!
