ICC Champions Trophy 2013 - England & Wales

As I said earlier, India are already at disadvantage by losing the toss and no matter how much IPL they play, they don't have a good T20 record. India will really have to fight hard to win this one.

Why is a team selected for a 50 over game being forced to play a 20 over game? I mean, ffs, England are at a ridiculous disadvantage here with both Cook and Trott in the side...

----------

And the toss, why wasn't it redone? Surely a toss from 5 hours ago for a 50 over game is irrelevant when the game is modified to a 20 over game...

This is quickly becoming a farce! Reserve day, it is not a hard concept.

The moment you have to decide the winner of a 50-over tournament on the basis of a game that is`nt even close to a 50-over game, it becomes a farce.

So England finally on the verge of their first global ODI tournament win courtesy a T20 final.

Well, This 20 over game is turning out to be England's sided game. With Dhoni gone ,India are really in trouble and Need a fine decent finish from Kohli.

When you can't figure out how to hit trundlers like Ravi Bopara out of the park, you deserve to lose.

Great accuracy in terms of length by the English seamers - correctly recognizing the extra bounce on offer and bowling a lot of just-short-of-good-length stuff. Subcontinental batsmen like to hit that sort of stuff through the line, but the extra bounce doesn't really allow that.

You don't understand, do you? It's the pressure that Tradewell is creating from other end that is causing them to hit Bopara. With the conditions in Bopara's favour it was always going to be hard for India.

Treadwell's job is to create pressure; he's the specialist bowler. Bopara is not. I don't care how helpful the conditions are - Bopara is no more than a trundler. He's the fifth bowler for a reason. There is no excuse for gifting 3 wickets to him.

And the constant stop-start... no effect on the game whatsoever. :rolleyes

We've gotta play with the lemons thrown our way, don't we?

The final is a farce, but we're in the farce, and the best possible result is to walk away with the title. Not hitting Ravi Bopara into oblivion will not achieve that.

Oh man, don't want to share another trophy.

Don't worry, it doesn't seem like you are going to win this one.:p

But on a serious note, if Indian batsmen are struggling and Bhuvi and Umesh in the form they are in. They still stand a strong chance.

The commentators did mention that the batsmen are struggling, but I believe that has more to do with the excellent discipline and accuracy shown by the English seamers. Sure, conditions help, but you have to help yourself.

Ishant and Umesh are hit-or-miss sort of bowlers. Bhuvaneshwar should ideally really fancy himself. Let's see. Need to get to 130 to feel half-decent though.

130 at least yeah, c'mon sir!

So how do you say we approach the great Ravi Bopara next time? Block him out? :rolleyes

^ We approach the great Ravi Bopara exactly the same way any batsman worth his salt would approach him - we take him out. Over and over. And if he comes back, we take him out again. :)

I think I just have irrational hatred towards Ravi Bopara. For whatever reason, he looks like a total douche to me.
