Well when you've got an arrogant captain who wins the toss and bowls first in a final that's basically half the match right there. Then he doesn't step up even though he says a lot of crap in his press conferences the day before the match. Another thing, why take two of your best fast bowlers and then have them sit on the bench the whole tournament? I don't understand the logic behind having shami and yadav sitting out the whole tournament. Absolutely unbelievable captaincy and stupid thinking.

That's not fair on Kohli.

The toss wasn't a bad decision. It's a flat track and India are very good at chasing, but it stops Pakistan from bowling first and getting India out for a small total. The desicion is fully understandable.

India have always played with the logic that no matter what the total, we can chase it. Today , after a ridiculous year and a half, Kohli has failed. You can't expect him to take the burden all the time. I would say pakistan have just outplayed India from the get go today.

Well, India had to get this kind of a nasty performance at some point. Even in that SL game, we batted well. But for India, its a given that we always come up with this kind of a completely humiliating performance. In the earlier years/decades, this kinda performance used to come more often. But now with the improvement of our fitness levels, improvement of our bowling stocks and the improvement in solidity of our batsmen, this kinda performance comes once in a blue moon.

To be fair, Pakistan have done everything to put themselves in a position to have an awesome day. After that defeat to us in the group game, they regrouped superbly and we are losing to the best team of the tournament. I still hope Pandya, Jadeja and Ashwin can compete really well and give India a respectable exit from this tournament.

I might agree with the "Shami/Yadav argument", but the toss was absolutely correct from Kohli! India backed their strength and on a pitch/ground where huge totals were chased right in this tournament. Sri Lanka chased 321 against us. And Pakistan were the most inconsistent team and are popular for being so. Which means, Kohli did the right thing at the toss.

I had a big issue with Kohli's body language towards the end of Pakistan's innings. His shoulders were badly down and his facial expressions gave it all away. That's where MSD is special - absolutely zero emotion. He doesn't let his emotions affect the team.

He consistently fails in big tournament matches we know that. 2015 World Cup Semi Final and now today. Not to mention the crap he talks about in his press conferences - believing in yourself, being ready ... That's all for nothing if you yourself can't back up your words. Also, Dhoni would have batted first after winning the toss. The logic is to get runs on the board and bowl freely which is what Pakistan is doing to us right now.
