ICC Champions Trophy 2017

Money matters more to BCCI.. They might opt out of CT. But who cares :D

Fearsome tweaking hell!!!

Pakistan recall Azhar, Umar Akmal for Champions Trophy; Kamran dropped | Cricket | ESPN Cricinfo

"Sarfraz Ahmed (c), Ahmed Shehzad, Azhar Ali, Mohammad Hafeez, Babar Azam, Shoaib Malik, Umar Akmal, Imad Wasim, Fakhar Zaman, Fahim Ashraf, Mohammad Amir, Wahab Riaz, Junaid Khan, Hasan Ali, Shadab Khan."

Why, why. WHY are Ahmed, Hafeez and Umar in the team? Why won't the PCB learn from the mistakes they've made in the past, why is an inexperienced Fahim Ashraf in the squad? This isn't the best place to debut him. Why. Just, why?

PCB makes the Australian board look world-class haha. Wonder where Fawad Alam is, he looked quite impressive a few years ago. Definitely worth a shot over the likes of the Akmal brothers.

The dude's been on top in the domestic circuit, yet he's never given a chance. Not even in the PSL. He averages 56.51 in First-Class, and 48.19 in List-A cricket.

Talking about the Australian board? We make the West Indies board look good.

If Pakistan wants to win this CT. PCB needs to select Fawad Alam. He is one of the best middle order batsman of Pakistan in all formats or at least in Test and ODIs.

India's participation in CT is very unlikely after BCCI getting no support in favour of old revenue and governance model. They have two options with them: either accept the terms and conditions and offer of ICC or continue to object the new model and opt out of CT. What option they choose is left to be seen.

South Africa are looking very strong ahead of the Champions Trophy. They have batsmen who have been in superb touch over the last few months and great lookong bowling attack that can destroy any side any day. High hopes for them this tournament.

At the end of the day, they're South Africa.

Two cents -

After seeing the IPL so far, I am strongly inclined to NOT take Ajinkya Rahane to England for the CT. He is pretty slow and cannot press the accelerator hard enough when required and that can hurt India if he bats too long and gets to a stage where we need impetus. We already have Rohit who needs time and accumulates. We also have Dhoni who takes time. We can't have Rahane also. And also with Robin Uthappa and Gautam Gambhir staking mighty strong claims for a spot, it sounds ridiculous to take Rahane ahead of those two. In fact I want both Uthappa and Gambhir in, but we also need a backup keeper and Samson fits that bill. I will pick Uthappa ahead of Gambhir but purely on his better hitting skills and the fact that he was in line for too long.

Second, after seeing the way Yuvraj has played this IPL, I really wish and hope he is NOT taken to England for the CT. I know Yuvraj brings experience with him and thats a reason along with his big hitting skills that he is taken, but we know years back that he is not the same Yuvraj anymore. He has lost his positivity beyond repair and on the field he looks truly like an old man now (again could be his outer body language). In his place, I would bring back Suresh Raina and take him to England for the CT. Experience for Experience? Check. Big hitting for Big hitting? Double Check. Fielding and body language? Raina >>> Yuvraj. Raina is still the same old brilliant fielder. And he has that vibrance and attitude (still) to pep the team up (his incident with Rishabh Pant still fresh in mind).

Perfect analogy.
