Again Gambhir and Uthappa have been overlooked and Dhawan gets in. It's sad these two haven't been given any chances especially as the likes of Rahane and Dhawan have been very inconsistent in the ODI format.

Rahane, at least understandable, because he has the potential and its a little early to look beyond him. He has the technique of playing the anchor role in tough conditions.

But Dhawan, I'm sure he is official drinks career.

I say Rahane because if he doesn't open he is not going to help teams cause coming in afterwards. Someone like Uthappa has shown he can come and play his shots. Maybe in place of Pandey, he should have been given a go as it would have meant we had a back up keeper too.

I'm so happy we ain't looking back and going for only IPL performers like gambhir and raina. Sad for Uthappa though, he could've been picked over Dhawan.

I'm completely baffled on why did they go back to Dhawan. He has been selected for only reason because he has the experience in playing in English conditions. The only thing left to experiment. I hope he performs this time, if not then all the doors will be closed for him...

I doubt Umesh will be left out of the XI same for Boom. It'll be call between Bhuvi and Shami.

Umesh is expensive in LO and he can't bowl well in death. And it would be foolish of team management to leave out Bhuvi. He is in excellent form. And Shami was amazing in ODI. He is our first choice bowler. Umesh will not play in CT for sure.

Not a fan of Dhawan but he has an outstanding record in 50 over ICC tournaments :
CT 2013 - 363 runs from 5 matches at an average of 90.75 and a strike rate of over 100
WC 2015 - 412 runs at an average of 51.50 and strike rate of 91.75

Also out of his 9 ODI centuries 8 came in winning causes only problem is when he is out of form he looks a very horrible player to watch.

He needs 13 wickets from 5 games to equal Mitchell Starc's record of fastest to reach 100 wickets in ODI. Although i feel it will difficult for him to reach that record in CT.
