This is the reason why I said we need Shami ahead of Bumrah. Bumrah is a containing option. You cannot contain sides in ODI cricket anymore. If you are going to play Pandya in the side, there is no place for Bumrah. It might sound harsh but we have to take that call. This game is gone now. SL have too much batting power to follow. I would not be surprised if they win with 2 overs to spare here. For all the talk of a gun attack, we are on the verge of getting knocked out of the competition. Pakistan made us look better than we actually were. I may get a lot of flak for this but we are batting too conservatively as well. Against a bowling attack like this, with the start we got, we should have scored 350 and batted SL out of the game.

Bowling and fielding was surely the big disappointment today. But batting is well below the standards. Starting the innings with just 4-5 RR and finishing it at 6+ RR is what I'm referring to. I mean, look at the batting of SL. They are scoring at 6+ RR from the beginning of their innings. Scoring boundaries in every over without taking much risky. Pitch isn't difficult as the Indian batsmen made it look so.
