My reasoning for Shankar over KL in seaming conditions is because - KL Has recently shown himself to be ‘all flashy’ and seems to have lost the restraint that served him well at the start of his domestic career when he was a solid opener. He has re-moulded his game in a way that he has let technique take a backseat.

On the contrary - Shankar is yet to let his game be affected. And Shankar has a solid technique with defensive and accumulative skills which will come handy when the ball is swinging/seaming. That’s why I said Shankar over KL in swinging conditions.

At the end of the day we all know that it won't swing much though

Nabi needs to bat higher up I feel. He has a very good sense of the game and can switch gears as needed. No lower than no.5

England are just smoking the AFG bowlers all around the park ... a nice wake up call for the team on what level of competition to expect from the best in the world

And Australia once again pulling in a clinical performance with the ball by them, after a good win against Eng. I think they have easily staked their claim as the favorites for this World cup. Australia starting as favorites for a world cup. What else is new?

I guess since 'technique' is so important, Sehwag shouldn't have made 8000 test runs? MS Dhoni should never have played international cricket? Last time I saw KL Rahul bat in a test match in England, he was getting 150 odd. Now, I don't want to sound like I am being a prick, but can someone please tell me where Shankar has shown these magical skills of playing seam and swing? I'm not saying he can't, but has anyone else seen this or is it just me?

I guess, people will say anything to fit their own agendas.

"Agenda" of promoting Shankar or something? You sound like a conspiracy theorist :p
People have their biases, it's natural. You have yours.

Let him post whatever trash he wants he would unnecessarily insult you as that's his nature :rolleyes

I think you are obsessed with everything having an agenda here if it doesn't fit your ideas. People can have their opinions which can differ from yours without pushing for any agenda

So, tournament opener in a couple of days - England v South Africa. According to you guys:

Which team do you want to win?
Which team do you think will win?

I think agenda was probably the wrong word. Opinion may be?[DOUBLEPOST=1559024649][/DOUBLEPOST]

Same as above.

What do you guys feel about non reserve days? Losing a game to rain say against one of the lesser sides for England or India? Things can snowball.

It is just poor planning. When holding such a prime tournament in countries like England or Sri Lanka, reserve days are mandatory even for group games. We have already seen 2 warm ups washed out. In a tournament where the top 4 qualification might come down to net run rate, not having reserve days is just poor stuff

Want South Africa to win ofcourse

But England will definitely start favorites, unless Rabada, Ngidi can bowl a fiery opening spell and snuff out the top 2-3 English batsmen
