Wales should have national side(I'm a proud Welshman), although until this year, for the last two years a "Wales" side played England in a friendly, we won first time by 8 wickets, Wales is part of the England&Wales Cricket Board so does not have a team.

N.Ireland is classified as part of the Irish Cricket Union.

Wales beat England? :p
Scorecard anywone?
Anyway, I was also wondering, what does a team has to do to qualify?
Is there any chance for Norway to participate in the next tournament? :happy

For Norway to qualify for the next ICC Trophy in 2009, assuming the qualifying format remains the same, they would have to do the following.

1. Win the ECC Affiliates championship in 2007.
2. Win the European Divsion 2 championship in 2008
3. Win the Repechage Tournament in 2009

If Scotland qaulifies for WC 2007,then they will be promoted to full ODI status by the ICC. ... just like Kenya.

That's only if the ICC approve the proposal at their meeting, which is taking place either today or tomorrow. And it will be all 5 of the teams that qualify for the World Cup.

And also, the ICC have actually abolished the separate category of ODI status, they're just going to allow the top 6 associates to play ODIs. They don't get any extra funding as Kenya did when they had full ODI status.

Wow, than that's a pretty long way! :p
Anyway I have plans to maybe be president in NCC so maybe I can do something about our national squad. Norway have many good players, but they don't play on the national team due to some reasons...

They may not be eligible. The qualification criteria for cricket is the strictest of any sport. Canada were even prevented from picking a Canadian born player for their ICC Trophy squad.

What do you mean?
The reasons can be like they don't wan't to play because of "not the best enviroment" and seriousity, if you understand...

Yes I know that, but can you tell me WHY they weren't able to pick that guy?
Oh, you mean the Canadian guy?

It was because he'd left Canada when he was very young (under 4 I think) to move to Australia. Because he'd spent no time involved in Canadian cricket at any level, he wasn't eligible under ICC rules.

For those who are interested the Canadian born player who isn't eligible to play for Canada is called Stewart Heaney. He played for the Australian Prime Minister's XI against Pakistan at the beginning of the year, scoring 35.
