From India's perspective, a lot will depend on Dhoni's captaincy. The good thing for Dhoni is, he will have spin friendly conditions and will also have Ashwin and Jadeja available for the middle overs to set up the choke. If Yuvraj is selected and is picked by Dhoni in the XI, he can operate on a three pronged spin attack. Seriously pray Ashwin is available for the entire tournament coz he not only bowls well himself, but in his company, Jadeja seems to do well too. Hope for India's sake that Hardik Pandya comes good in the T20's in Australia with the ball and bat. That way, the balance of the side can be taken care of.

Some proactive captaincy from Dhoni can help India greatly. After all, we are playing the tournament at home and last time we played a WC tournament at home, we won it under the same captain.

I think MSD will be the xfactor, its almost a given that he will retire after Wt20, he has the knack of getting the troop right through the big tournaments, plus for a man known for his finishing skills i think he will have something up to finish his career on a high!

Its t20 and not odi or test so its difficult to say weather Other teams will feel the pressure of spin.Surely India is going to have advantage but we cannot forget the last two sixes from Afridi to Ashwin in Asia cup.Hard hitters doesn't care about pace or spin.

I know it's a completely different format, but I'm watching the ODI in NZ and I can't believe how weak Sri Lanka look since the retirement of the big two. They have no chance of winning this tournament.

On a separate note, I'm excited about the best cricket day of the year. So much international cricket, and a bit of big bash.

Kusal's positive drug test doesn't help them either. He along with Chandimal and Mathews is the backbone of Sri Lanka's batting, especially since Thirimanne hasn't been doing exactly great.

India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka are the 3 weakest teams out of the top 8 in my opinion
I feel you're drunk with this sort of line. I accept Pak and SL are the the weakest of the top 10 though, don't forget ENgland was knocked out in the group stages of the 2015 ICC CWC in Australia and we finished third in that tourney, staying away from home we won 7 consecutive games in an un-friendly conditions for spin bowling, thanks to Umesh and Shami for that.

You're talking about games that happened a year ago in a different format of the game. I've said before that India are the strongest Asian team, and home advantage will keep them in the hunt, but if this tournament was taking place in somewhere like SA or England, they'd have absolutely no chance. Yadav, Shami, Kumar and Aaron don't even compare to some of the quality seamers that there are around the world at the moment, and as for Ishant Sharma, he is one of the worst international seamers I've ever seen.

But it's happening now in India, so we along with Pakistan are the favourites to lift the cup.
