Ah! Enjoyed reading all posts here, having been on a blanket self-imposed ban on PC for the entire duration of the game. It was electrifying to watch Kohli dismantle Australia. Even if Starc had been there, Kohli would've dismantled him too here in this game. Australia just didn't have any answers for the storm that was 'Kohli'. Nobody gave a damn on what Kohli was capable of and wanted India to lose. But all of it proved crushingly wrong. The comparisons of this Kohli innings to that 'desert storm' knocks of Sachin in Sharjah was inevitable. Yuvi despite that twisted ankle gave Kohli amazing support. Yuvraj the batsman has been highly underrated this tournament. He has played those 'dirty invaluable' cameos that has lifted the team out of trouble. If he and Kohli had done it against NZ, we would've been table toppers of the group. Our bowlers did a very admirable job pulling back Australia after they ran away to an amazing start. Nehra was fantastic with the ball, his last over was beautiful to watch.
Hope Yuvraj is fit for the semifinal, I want to see him playing that game. If he is not fit, Rahane will come in and should take the opening spot along with Dhawan with Rohit at No.4. If Yuvraj is fit, Rahane should replace Dhawan and open with Rohit. Seeing that we do not have other good options, Raina stays. And Rohit is due a big one soon.
I know a Kohli failure is soon expected (memories of the 2015 WC semis will come flooding now), seeing the venue for our next game (Wankhede), I am expecting our other batters to come to party on a run feast of a ground. A final vs New Zealand or England would be awesome for India if they make it. And as always - I am betting on them.
