you do like stokesy?

Stokes comes across as the bloke next door. A humble northern lad who just likes batting and bowling. Kohli has a 'movie star' image, and is disliked for similar reasons to ones which premier league footballers are disliked.

What does 'movie star' image mean and why are premier league footballers disliked? I don't know about that and I can't really google it.

And just because someone is famous than other person doesn't mean you have to hate the former. 'Movie star' image is what? Being famous?

It's a perception isn't it? Kohli seems to like the adoration of the crowd and makes the most of his fame. In England, many people think that footballers are overpayed and spoilt. Even the way that Kohli carries himself when he talks to the media just winds people up. I think he gets off on being by far the best cricketer in his team. Means all eyes are in him. I think he's all things that Tendulkar wasn't.

Over the past few weeks, Kumar Sangakkara has been on British tv. He's had a fabulous career with far more success so far than Kohli. Yet you wouldn't know it just by watching and listening to him. A man of great integrity.

Yeah, i agree that Kohli is hard to like if you're not from India. Cricketers who do stuff like putting their hands to the ears in front of the opposition fans, or tell them to shut up aren't well seen anywhere (talking in general here, but the reference is obvious). And rightly so. Such celebrations have no place in cricket.

That's the difference between kohli and the rest. He is playing good even with all media/crowd attention. Infact, he is playing great. Isn't he ? Just because a person likes fame, adoration of crowd, means his character is unlikeable ? Come back and tell me when he is spoilt because of these things. And I understand spoilt is "not playing well" in this context.

Ok. Let me clear something. You hate kohli because he gets all adoration from crowd, he gets paid well ? That seems right. LOL

Yes. Players like sanga and dravid dont want any attention. Did kohli tell the crowd and media to give all adoration, fame to him ? No.

And let me tell you one thing. He NEVER disrespected cricket. NEVER. Unlike so many cricketers who throw ball and bat to each other.
It's just the passion Kohli has for cricket and he shows his emotion. What's wrong with that ?[DOUBLEPOST=1459943029][/DOUBLEPOST]

So,m kohli is the only player to do that ?

This is one of those things. You either like Kohli or you don't. Right now you're running around in circles...

Well. I will stop this argument (from my side) by this. If you hate kohli or any cricketer because of his attitude alone( which is better than many other loved cricketers who has done much horrible things) and not considering his skills, then you are an idiot (Not pointing to a particular person. Just in general).

Not necessarily taking sides in these post but taking photos from a 'fancy dress' event as evidence of someones character probably isn't the most fitting of uses?

it was to show the incredulity of the post, stokes isnt a puppy either, he sledges as much as kohli! And i still rate stokes as one of the best all-rounder's there!

Im not going to go round and round with this, its the individual choice to like or detest a player whatever the reason even though some are ridiculous!

I don't hate him. In fact, i'm quite a fan of his batting. I'm just saying that he's hard to like.
Ya, ya. I didn't mean that post to you. I just said in general.

Also, I don't care if people like/dislike kohli. It's their opinion.

What I was arguing about is, if you are assessing player's cricketing skills, why do you want to bring up a "character certificate"? Assess it by their cricketing skills alone.
