NO. RP deserves it more than Tyagi, purely because of more experience (apart from very good form). He has already played in the previous World Cup. RP Singh has been a transformed bowler in this IPL.

And I would say that Balaji has exceeded expectations in this IPL. He has bowled really well (he is in the top 5 of the highest wicket takers in this tournament). So please get rid of your hate for Balaji. He might look sluggish with his action, but he is highly effective.

I am not hating Balaji now. But the way he has bowled for CSK in this IPL season, without any hesitation I would say, Tyagi has performed better than Balaji. I hardly saw any pace from him but he is a pace bowler? :

Tyagi has bowled only 8-10 overs in this season.
Whereas Balaji has bowled his full quota of his overs in almost all games.The way he bowls his yorkers and slow balls is just amazing tbh.
Hes really experienced now and is mixing up his pace quite cleverly.Hes definitely better than Tyagi at least for now.
Tyagi has bowled some nice opening spells but we are yet to see him bowl in the slog overs.We cant decide who is better before he bowls some balls in the last 5-10 overs.

He's a matchwinner though. Like in the final in 2007. He's also half decent with the bat and is good fielder.

With all the batting power of India we need specialist bowler. I think Jadeja can contribute more than Irfan.

That lineup would massacre the opposition .Although I would go for Zaheer and Praveen instead of RP just because of the fact that RP and Zaheer are bowlers of similar style and would be picked easy by the batsmen.

Again I say, pace is not the only criteria. In T20's, the mix of slower balls and variations do better. Its a format where guys like Joginder Sharma are good at. Balaji is much faster than these guys. I think you are purely rating him based on how he runs in and bowls. His action has changed, but he is still mighty effective. Now, he bowls in the mid 130's. You seem to like Tyagi more because he is an unknown quantity. But Balaji has performed better than Tyagi this IPL.

He has been in good form this tournament. And England conditions can help him with the swing that he needs. And he was the star of the final last year. He should be there.

Yep, I'm scared of that lineup but not so much of the bowling. Batting lineup looks powerful though. I think one of the 3 left armers probably misses out and at this stage it would be Zaheer Khan. That would mean Praveen would play and just decide between Zaheer/Ohja for the last bowling spot. Ohja definitely if playing the Aussies

Well NZ have some good 'uns. Ross Taylor I think is definitely one of the best T20 batsmen in the world. Oram and McCullum are destructive, but not playing so well at the moment. If they find touch I'm worried about NZ. Ryder? Hasn't done much in T20s so far, but has stacks of potential.

Bowling is a worry though. Vettori is excellent, one of the best. But who's gonna bowl the rest of the overs?
