India in Pakistan

this series reminds me ashes for some reason .

Lol are you crazy. The Ashes didn't have 2 boring draws, pitches that suit bowling for a few days then becomes dead flat and heading towards yet another draw.

This is not heading towards a draw, though. And Pakistan will be declaring, not declearing. I think Pakistan will quickly add another 80-100 runs today, possible in about 70-80 minutes and then put India in for the remainder of the match. Chasing 550, and batting out 5 sessions on a 4th and 5th day pitch is a Herculean task, regardless of the pitch condition. As I said earlier, it will take only 10 wicket taking balls or batting mistakes, out of 750-odd balls, for Pakistan to win this game. That's probability in your favour.

OH my god! Where does this comment suddenly come from?

We have all seen what type of cricket the Ashes produced! Amazing & thrilling cricket! But this series has been nothing but absolutely boring except for the first two days of Karachi where it was entertaining!

I didnt expect this wicket to ease out this much! Still we are not into the 4th day and so let us Indian fans hope it eases out even more! But still as sohum says, 10 wickets out of 750 balls is going to be definitely in their favor! we can only be hoping that we draw (or) win the game! but its all in pakistan's side!

Yes one more session possibly looking to hit out.

I would say if India harbor any hopes of winning, they restrict Pakistan to 550-560 (target). Giving them 600 is like all over! They will come to hit out and then reach 600! Thats plain nasty for India! Ideally, India should start with Kumble and Pathan! These two have been good in this match so far! They still have Akmal who can slog very well (remember Lahore' 102 off 82 balls).

Bad Indian Bowlers or Majestic Pakistan Batting?

Pakistan will win this one and they deserve to win it. Indian bowlers are crap! They can't bowl fast coz they're weak as hell.

Bad Indian Bowlers or Majestic Pakistan Batting?

A lot has been said about Indian Bowlers not being Fast Enough, Lacking Variety, Accuracy, etc.
Here's another perspective: The Pakistan batting has been just Majestic in this Series and even the preceding series against England. England has "The Best" pace attack in the world right now. Even Flintoff, Harmison, and Hoggard got killed in Pakistan. With Razzaq "a proper Batsman" comming at Number Eight how can any team get Pakistan out on these surfaces?
Pakistan bat too deep and are invincible on these wickets.

I think the match is headed for an interesting finish. Although I m not a fan of Sachin but I m expecting him to produce something like back in Chennai, Sehwag will be getting out early though, he is not a second innings wonder. But if India goes for the draw which they might than this match is lost already, Indians aren't good enough to draw matches in 4th innings and history says that.

Kamran Akmal comes at #8,not Abdul Razzaq.BTW,In series against England,Pakistan played every match with 7 batsmen & four specialist bowlers as Abdul Razzaq was unfit then.

And how on earth is English pace attack better than that of Australia?

Indeed, India are pretty bad at drawing matches. Defensive cricket will only play them straight into the hands of Pakistan, as Younis Khan will be able to set very attacking fields. It's important that they play naturally, hope for some luck, and hope that the pitch stays true. That's the best they can do from this stage. 550 vs. 600 is just a psychological edge, in my opinion. If they get to 550, they'll be disappointed they couldn't get to 600 (India).

Well I believe that it has been acknowledged by some people/experts that England does have a better pace attack against than Australia-and so that was why Aus lost the Ashes; I did read this somewhere on cricinfo, so I hope someone can back me up here. Aus just has a good everything whereas other countries try to specialize...though that doesn't really make sense.

If Ganguly opens the inning I'll bet you he'll core 100 today.
naa mate, I seriously doubt it although he might open though.
He is so dumb to realise that when he can't play the pull than why try it again and again and again......and then he threw his gloves away to show some frustration on TV to get some sympathies, definitely good for Kolkattan theatre.:p

That makes a lot of sense. Think about it like this way, Eng lost in Pak whereas Aus would've won it despite loosing the Ashes.
England is only good in tailor-made conditions but Aus maintains the standard everywhere.

What would you have done had you faced that quick bouncer coming at your neck?

Everyone in this world is an actor, including you and me! Ganguly is also the same! There is nothing wrong in trying to woo the Kolkatta theatre audience who also have the same knowledge of cricket as everyone does!

Leaving aside all sarcasm, I think Ganguly was really frustrated with himself at that dismissal!

@ Ganguly opening - Impossible to happen, but I think India needs to spring out some surprises on Pakistan! They have not lost the series yet! They should have this in mind and just give it their everything to save the series. They would have learnt the lesson from Bangalore 2005 not to go defensive! And I am sure Chappell also would advice them the same! If they save this game, then FANTASTIC JOB done by India!

Here we go--Ganguly is an international cricketer. Who is supposedly still of capability to play international cricket. A bouncer should not take your wicket, especially since you know you can't play it properly. Ganguly has been getting out to such deliveries for ages, now, it's not a sudden happening. He did look good, prior to that, and he must have been pretty pissed off at himself.

Oh dear, Pathan can hardly reach the 120's now.

Whats up with Pathan? He is bowling even slower than McGrath and McGrath is apporaching 40. He really has problems if he can't stay above 130 in a test match especially if he can't move the ball.
