Actually, I think Ganguly can bowl a bit of offspin. If memory serves me correctly, he bowled offspin in a 1997 or 1999 match against Zimbabwe. I'm not sure, but I believe it was between 1997 and 1999, and against Zimbabwe, that Ganguly bowled Offspin

Lolzz... Thats a funny team! Gambhir as our fifth bowler?

Btw, hey guys, does India need a fifth bowler? If 4 specialist bowlers cant do the job, what can a fifth bowler do? We use this theory in argument against including a 7th batsmen during the days of the Ganguly era! Why cant we use it now? ODI's right now are a batsman's game! The bowlers have little or no mercy and are used as mere damage control objects!

Why cant India use a batsman instead of a fifth specialist bowler and increase their chances of scoring big runs? See, we came close to winning the first ODI even though we got hit at the beginning! So if we have an additional batsman and score 20-30 more runs, we increase our chances of winning even more! And it increases the pressure on the opposition and makes them commit more mistakes! So the presence of a fifth bowler gets balanced in all these!

Why not use Yasir Arafat as the Super sub. He is an all-rounder and imo way better than Arshad khan.

@ Sai:: True but even if your team puts up 300+ will the 4 bowlers bowl tightly becaue your 5th bowler will be a part-timer. I think that is where India fall short they need someone to keep things under control in the beginning and the last 10 overs. Pakistan play a lot fo all-rounders and that is why their batting and their bowling is very equal. Everyone untill Akthar (who can swing the bat) are capable of making 100+. Razzaq, Afridi, and Malik are not bad at bowling either. They keep it tight sometimes and sometimes can get the breakthrough.

Well all-rounders like Razzaq and Afridi are integral parts of an odi team, I dont think any coach or captain will leave them out of the playing XI, only when he is forced to do so because of injury or something.

well u all saw what happened in 1st odi!!
if we had a solid batsmen like iqbal come in instead of afridi we wouldnt have collapsed!!
he can hit big aswell!!
