India in South Africa

It will be a shame if he comes to the side as a replacement and not through his performance.
He is nto replacing anyone. YOu see, that was the reason why they named Laxman as the replacement. Laxman did not perform exceedingly well in the last few domestic but still has the technique to complement, sometimes better Dravid.

Ganguly will be in the team due tohis performance only...

I do not agree with your comment about his technique been similar to dravid his vulnerability to short bowling is well known and in south africa i fear his career would be over if he fails and he is only coming as a replacement for yuvraj singh. If he cannot perform in domestic cricket how can he do well in international cricket when our domestic cricket is of low quality.Really i feel
he would be good on slow and low tracks of west indies but do not end his career in south africa.

I think he meant sub continent conditions where ball turns and has low bounce now the indian cutrators have started making green pitches while at home also to so to the world how good they are the two matches outh africa won were on green tops .when did we get a turner in south africa

did u read my post? u seem to simply want to post something against ganguly! he is likely to be picked in the TEST SQUAD and thats not a replacement like how Laxman is doing now for Dravid in the remaining ODI's (only one as he is not going to be there tomorrow). The test side itself is being picked only tomorrow (Nov 30th). So if Ganguly is picked, its on his performances and his experience. You need runs behind you and Ganguly has more runs behind him now than the competing youngsters and other players who dont have as much runs as Ganguly has behind him now.

I feel this is the best chance for Ganguly to say "I am still good for this level" or say to himself "well, i would be better off retiring and looking into other stuffs as this is not my cup of tea anymore". it will also shut the mouths of ganguly's supporters if he fails (that they are wasting their time supporting him).

dont just cling on to his vulnerability to the short ball. He showed ample amounts of determination in playing the short pitched deliveries well in his last tour of Pakistan in 2005 against Akthar. He has had good knocks abroad before, and why not try him instead of struggling youngsters who are low on confidence?

and one more thing, "cricket_lover" was talking about Laxman's technique being similar or better than Dravid. Why are you bringing up the topic of "vulnerable to short pitched bowling"? Laxman is vulnerable to short pitched bowling? When? Laxman has been very good off short pitched bowling. His weakness is the incoming ball which almost all Indian batsmen have including our great Sachin! After Sachin and Dravid, Laxman has the best overseas success ratio!

lol
Such a 1D comment.
What Laxman only lacks is the lack of foot movement sometimes. But his technique is sound.

He scored very well on moving tracks in the past, and i'm sure he will in the future.

Its not about what you and I feel, its the stats you look up to, and stats say that he has performed well away from home too, in the last 5-6 years compared to other Indian batsmen (ofcourse, with the exception of Dravid).

Don't bring your personal like/dislikes into a neutral discussion.

It seems that the ball is moving a lot. But still both captains wanted to bat early.

Once again, Zaheer gets Smith for a duck! This is tremendous! Zaheer nailing Smith early often! Lets hope this time, the result of the match is different!lolzzz.

Pawar changes plans and calls selectors to Delhi tomorrow for selection meeting

Oh god! Is the ugly politics going to re-surface again? What are Pawar and Niranjan Shah going to do at the national team selection meeting? Ganguly had dropped Bengal captaincy today. Probably he thinks he will be selected tomorrow.

But seeing this change of plans by Pawar and Shah, my guess is Ganguly wont go to South Africa! SO getting ready for the disappointing decision!

Kallis is playing really good out there. It looks like he will get easily another century.

So its good to see one man already performing well.... Zaheer! Its really to be appreciated becos it seemed to be tough to be in team XI when Ajit,Munaf,Sree and Irfan were there but this man(Zaheer) has done well :clap

But still, it wud be nice if he's able to produce his special yorkers which he did at the start of his career!

And regarding test team, its going to be a real test for the players! Also i doubt that spin twins might get separated in SA pitches(in Team XI)!

Already the commentators are speaking about a clean sweep for South Africa. Thats how Kallis is batting. He has been effortless today! Its clearly his day! The bowling hasnt been bad at all, but Kallis is batting like a champion!

Agarkar and Pathan now! Great times for South Africa!

Zaheer just needed to be back.. I am sure he can reproduce his deadly yorkers. How much can Pathan fall from here on? Agarkar going at 7 runs per over here too!

For the tests, I wish Dravid recovers. Or else, we will receive a real mauling!

Also Ganguly wud be 99% play in match i guess becos we miss Yuvraj singh in the middle order! So Jaffer,Sehwag,Dravid,Sachin,Laxman,Sourav,Dhoni,Kumble, 3 fast bowlers! Or if Ganguly is not making in team XI then i guess they might go with two spinners!

Also in today's match, Its a great comback from SA... Its turning out to be a big issue/problem that we are not performing well in ODIs abroad with World Cup nearing us!

One positive for India is that Smith's becoming Khan's bunny.

Jumbo's doing it for us! WOO HOO

Kumble has stuck back with two quick wickets! Way to go Jumbo! Who said he is not fit for this shorter version?

SA 93/4!!! I think a total of below 220 would be good for India!

I hope Kumble can get a 5 for. We usually always win when Kumble gets his 5.

I dont know why Ganguly has started reacting to the rumors of his recall. His dropping of the Bengal captaincy one day before the team selection, is bizarre. It seems he wants drop enough hints that he is ready for selection to the Indian team!
