India in South Africa

Yeah, vvs could have run better. My point is, could any of the Indian fielders have managed that run out? I guess Sreesanth could have ... he's got the best arm among the Indian fast bowlers at the moment. But other than that, how many fielders do we have to hide on the field - Munaf, VVS Laxman, Saurav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid, Wasim Jaffer, Anil Kumble (to an extent) - that's a big list.

As are Ganguly and Dravid. They've played over a decade, where is the common sense?
Run in straight lines
Non striker runs down one side, striker down the other
Behind the stumps, non striker calls.
Front of the stumps, striker calls.
Take a start as the bowler runs in and always look for the extra run.
Slid your bat.
Have trust in your partner.
I bet my 6 year old cousin would be a better runner!

Are you watching the same game? It looked easy when DDk and Dada were batting. it's only tricky from one end where the rough is. The other has no demons, it's easy.

All the demons are in the head when batting last

Yea. There was a discussion, Sachin had to be short leg cause no one else could catch well enough or was agile enough! Dravid couldn't, he was the skipper, if he got hurt then? Dada was already silly point. VVS was slip, Viru had to bowl. Jaffer can't catch to well, neither Jumbo, it was just sad!
Bring back Kaif and Yuvi! :p
You really can't drop anyone. Everyone has been batting well. Uthappa would be a good replacement when Viru is dropped temporarily to find form...

Yup :p

Uthappa is a front foot player he will struggle on the short ball he need sto develop his backfoot play and how can you forget gambhir

Cause I haven't seen Gambhir field, and Uthappa has been great domestically whereas Gambhir hasn't gotten a chance to play domestic cricket at all.

gambhir is one of our best fielders

I don't think so.[/QUOTE

Its your opinion mate but i am convinced its hard to chase totals even on batting tracks as the pressure which coems on fall of a wicket slows down the run rate and leds to a bunch of wicket

Yeah, something needs to be done about the fielding. H.Singh for Munaf Patel, and Gambhir to come in for Sehwag. That will definitely boost it. We can't drop the others as they've done well in their primary fields, apart from Sachin. What say - drop Sachin?

whats Sachin has not done? I dont agree in dropping the Master! It wud be just unfair!

In this match, i guess, If Bhaji wud have been there instead of Munaf, that wud have added more pressure on SA.. Also Bhaji can play some handy quick runs too ;)

Well, a nice stage is set up for the thriller tmrw! I feel its going to be a close game... SA loosing by 10 runs or Winning by 2 Wickets :p

What do you mean unfair? I agree though that they'll have to wait another year before dropping him, but his performance in 2006 was appalling. Maybe he needs a rest. It's clear that he isn't very fit, and taking off from an ODI series may do him some good.

No! Don't ever drop him from One Dayers, he is class in one dayers but needs to concentrate a bit more in tests.

i guess, after world Cup, he might stick to Test series alone!

In ODIs, he is one of the best opening batsmen in the world. Even though he has struggled in the middle becos of injuries, if the question like, " how do u feel while bowling to Tendulkar? " is put forward to any great bowlers, the answer "challenging" wud always likely to result in! I remember in WC03, where he just came back after injury i guess b4 the tournamnet( i m not sure abt injury though), there were several bowlers who critcised Tendulkar in public.. He replied those bowlers with his mighty sixes ;) Then once again after injuries again, there were once again criticism abt him " Endulkar & not Tendulkar ".. where he made the impact again making the commentators saying, " It Tendulkar back and not Endulkar "

what i just want to say is, Never Underestimate this man in cricket! ;)

In Tests,
Fitness is playing a fate game with Sachin. He just need to get his concentration a bit more as Manee told. If i am right, even today he was suffering in fitness!

On a general note, Sachin can read the bowlers well. He is much needed in both forms of the game especially with the world cup ahead! If i am right, Sachin is one of the leading run scorers in World Cups! He has the capacity to handle the bowlers in a cunning way! Never never underestimate this little Champion! ( lol, he is still a little champion inspite of his age :p ) And more over, this is a just my opinion ;) and it differs from person to person!

I'm going to give the match to South Africa here, just like the Indian batsmen seem to have done. It is a fifth day pitch, but any team with 3 quality batsmen should be able to knock down 160 runs in a day. Unless we get 3 early wickets tomorrow morning! :D

GAwd. Leave it up to this team to give it away alllways! ALL THE TIME! Karachi, Mumbai, even Durban! I MEAN C"MON!
