India in the West Indies

lol, Ganguly has fewer opportunities these days, and he better make them count.

Zaheer has done his part, I feel Zaheer/Pathan/Munaf combination will work well. One is a seam bowler, Pathan swings, while MP is a bit of everything.

In the tests rite?

becoz Zaheer/Pathan(or)Sreesanth/Agarkar/ is a better combination in the one dayers.....

For Christ Sake!!!
Are Kumble, Monk, and Bhajji, expected to take all 20 Wickets.
Indian Pacers - Get one Opener out at least.
Pitch has Bounce and Conditions are there for Swing.

What the heck??? Zaheer is grabbing wickets like mad. Before this match, it said he has picked up something like 40 wickets this ongoing season so far. And a 5-for again here.. He's on fire.

He's Always on Fire in First-Class Cricket.
Wonder what happens to him on the Test Scene?
The Guy looked like a Spent Force on a Seaming Wicket in Karachi.

you are judging him by one test? He proved his mettle in many matches. Like i said earlier, Zaheer mostly played on the sub-continent. When India toured England, Aus, NZ, Zaheer did his job, grabbing 5-fors among others.

He always bowls with committment, sometimes he's just unlucky not to get wickets.

Yes Sai, i meant the test team. I feel Agarkar is now the spearhead for the ODI side, and If Zaheer can make a come-back, the trio of Zaheer/MP/Pathan can do significant damage.

I think Zaheer is a good bowler and has bowling talents.
He's had one too many "Issues" with the Indian Team Management, coaches in particular.
It's well known he fought with a gentleman like John Wright, had problems with Chappell, even Bruce Reid who was adviser to India's Fast Bowlers in Australia criticised him like anything.
His Personality/Behavior Issues which surface the minute he walks into the Indian Dressing Room just drag him down as a bowler.

I think you are exaggerating a bit over there.
Bruce Reid said that Zaheer "was mentally lazy, otherwise, an awesome bowler with so much talent", and Zaheer worked quite hard both at MRF academy and in domestic season to get back into the team.

You're talking as if you've seen him in the dressing room. I don't think he had problems with Chappell or Wright, see as players you think different than coaches. If that is the reason why you get kicked out, it tells you how good the regular environment and understanding between coaches and players is.

Back to the match, Gayle on fire.

I didn't have to be in the Dressing Room. It was very obvious. Many posters on this board, the print media, pundits, commentators, following the last couple of series Zaheer played also stated that Zaheer had attitude problems.

I am not questioning Zaheer's talent, just questioning his attitude.
I know Dada backed him to the hilt. I don't know if the "New Dada", read Chappell, will grant him the same leeway.

hey windies close at stumps 207/1

Ganga 64*
Sars 44*

Gayle was simply on fire!! All in all a great batting strip, and both teams should rack up 550+.

With Lara, Shiv and Bravo yet to come, there is some exciting batting left. Can India grab a few wickets here to pull themselves back into contention??

At last the Windies are batting as they should have been in the last test.
Gayle was awesome and Ganga is standing up. Sarwan looking at another biggie. I would say another draw is coming and this time a high scoring one.
Bhajji took a smashing in his come back to the test arena.

Now we know why Lara wanted Bhajji in the team:D .

This should be heading for another draw, the weather is not promising.

Hehe good old double bluff from Lara.

Even without the rain it looks like it's going to a draw. Unless it was another case of brillance from Gayle but Ganga and Sarwan aren't having many problems so I can't see India having too many problems. So expect runs, runs and more runs! That is if the rain doesn't stop it. ;)

If the West Indies can get a big score (i.e. 500+), I think they can put India under pressure and dismiss them cheaply in the first innings.

Then again, everyone is familiar with the world famous West Indian collapse.

Hmm, the letters in your name can be rearanged to jd...bias. Coincidence?

lol, nice observation there.

I don't think India should have too much problems playing on this pitch, with almost all (except Laxman) in good form.
But you'll never know with cricket.

I feel, Zaheer was a great bowler those days, but i really doubt him to have the same ability now. Especially, his yorkers(also knwn as Zaheer Yorkers) tht fetched him many wickets was missing when he made a comeback in the ODIs recently!!! Old Zaheer pace was missing too in that series!!!

But i heard Zaheer is doing well recently in domestic...i am also expecting him to make a aggressive comeback with his aggressive yorkers :happy

But then it will be a tough choice bw Zaheer,Pathan,Munaf, Sreesanth and Ajit to select 3 from them!!!

Unless all of India's batsmen decide to forget batting together, on the same day, and all the clouds in St. Kitts disappear, I'm afraid this is going to go down to the last test match.

And I don't know why Lara claimed that they didn't fight back with their backs against the wall in the 2nd test match. Someone needs to tell him that India had an innings in hand, and they were really the only team in that match.
