India in the West Indies

Why are the West Indies still batting? 500 is more than enough!! I could understand it if they were one nil up in a series, and trying to draw the final test to win the the series, but this is just stupid.

I have to say well played Samuels, put the team before himself. Although, the Windies still havn't declared. WHY ON EARTH ARE THEY STILL BATTING!!! They have 562 runs, you cannot possibly lose now!!

I guess the West Indies want to make sure that if India suffer a batting collapse, they don't do it again.

Haha... Chanderpaul stranded in the 90s--serves him and the West Indies right for playing some sloppy team cricket.

Brian Jerling's debut test (it is his debut test, right?) also seems to have not gone too well, if commentator's are anything to go by.

Also, Bhajji's clinical finish off of the tail shows what we missed in games 1 and 2. I think India have not won this series as much as West Indies have provided the resistance, whether it be by uninspired bowling or incorrect team selection.

Too true. The West Indies are pathetic, they have absolutley no desire to win this test match.

At least their bowlers are putting in some effort. A dropped catch and frequent misfields in the field aren't helping them, though.

Bad luck to Chanderpaul, the tail really should have stuck with him for 3 more runs!
Great batting by Samuels, now his bowling will have to come into play.
Jaffers has started well this inns, looks like another biggie coming from him.

Jaffer out on 60 and Dravid is out on the crease

They are playing it safe right now, and thats the best thing to do. Keep wickets intact for the fourth day.

Unlucky Chanderpaul.
Deserved a hundred there.
Samuels provided good support.
West Indes nave still got to bowl out india twice which is no easy task on this wicket.

Pakistan

Sad if a series is reduced to one game, like what happened in Pakistan.

Well the Indian team will have Hell to pay, if the Pakistan scenario happens again.
It will actually be a lot worse than Pakistan if they lose the Test Series, because they lost the ODI's 4-1.
They missed out on two good oportunities and failed to close the deal.

Why are you happy at Chanderpaul's personal misery?

Personal misery? What? scoring a 216 ball 97 when the team required you to up the tempo. He shouldn't be playing at all, if it is for personal purpose.

Thank god, i have'nt seen this innings. I also remember his 500 ball knock, which was the worst innings in the history of cricket. He may have no problem with the bowlers, but it just kills cricket.

It was surprising, very surprising to see them play that slow. Well, you could always imagine that they were playing for a draw. They seem to lack the killer instinct.

India has the killer instinct, but they just don't know how to put them together.

Anyway, it'll be some good batting practice for the Indians. Lets hope WI bowlers strike with some early wickets, to give the match some life.

Because as a cricket fan, I'm not always looking at Indian success. Chanderpaul and West Indies' approach before lunch seemed farcical and they seemed to bat like the team who was chasing 600 runs with 4 days to go. In a rain-curtailed test match, 500 is more than enough, especially on a flat track if you're expecting to make any headway in winning.

Chanderpaul's knock was selfish and it showed when he was pissed off when Collymore was dismissed. Chanderpaul and Samuels scored 20 runs in the last 14-odd overs before lunch, at a time when they were expected to accelerate and provide West Indies a good total, as well as time. Similar to what Dhoni had done in the first match.

Go the West Indies!!!! Great batting show by them. Great to have em back. Now I just hope they can bowl India out.
