Bumrah,I got a gut feeling he is going to do great for a year or maybe two then falter like Munaf Patel.

Pandya doesnt seem surely not a big match player , he needs a big improvement specially in bowling . Bhumrah would going long as i think so.he has a special talent for dropping yorkers

Hardik Pandya as I mentioned before, is not International quality

very true indeed, pandya can be ok for ipl but definetly not on international level. Bhumrah overall seems a better bowler and if he become able to manage correctly ,we will see a good fast bowler in indian team

Purely based on stats of IPL so far, an Indian T20 XI would have been;

Ajinkya Rahane
Gautam Gambhir
Virat Kohli
Rohit Sharma
Robin Uthappa
Yusuf Pathan (or Krunal Pandhya for more balance)
Axar Patel
Bhuvaneshwar Kumar
Jasprit Bumrah
Dhawal Kulkarni
Amit Mishra

Chose Gambhir as captain as he won 6 out of 9 matches,while other captains Kohli won 3/8 and Rohit won 5/10.

As much as I like Gambhir in the Indian team, the sad part is; it never gonna happen. Dhoni-Gambhir rivalry had developed as bitter as Dravid-Ganguly of 2007-08 season!
Gautam is not in Indian team because of Dhoni. His behaviors may come second on that list! Both of them are my favourite but really feel sad when they bring EGO and Battle for captaincy before the team.

What is this Dhoni-Gambhir rivalry ?

It was started post WC 2011 when Gautam cruised us to a 5-0 ODI victory as captain against NZ and 4-0 against SL. He was becoming a strong candidate for Indian captaincy surpassing Dhoni. I do agree Gambhir has strong ego and rude behavior which worked against him a lot. Later when he failed miserably in England alongside his fellow team mates for 4-0 drubbing, he was immediately dropped and never given an opportunity to play ODIs. It was basically a clash of two massive EGOs.

Gambhir was the stand in captain for Dhoni. So naturally, when Dhoni would be back as the captain again

And you yourself said that Gambhir hit a miserable patch of form in England (which followed a very poor series against Pakistan) and was dropped. And then Rohit/Dhawan did really well as openers and locked those positions for some time. Seems very run of the mill stuff to me

Now that Gambhir is back in form, it looks like he is being considered for the national team again. Although he has only found form in T20 and doesn't have much to show for the other formats. But he can definitely be given a go against Zimbabwe after IPL

This was always going to happen since Virat has already worked Dan at RCB for 2 years now. I don't know because I haven't seen or heard about any standout stuff from Vettori the coach. Of course he will be given a serious thought since his name is recommended by Kohli but I would much rather see someone like Rahul Dravid (if available). Dravid as the head coach and Zaheer as a bowling coach would be an ideal situation. However, that is unlikely to happen since I have also heard that the assistant coaches are likely to retain their position.

Well. Whoever it is, Gautam or Dhawan or anyone, lets hope they play well for India.

That's what we all Indian fans want out of newcomers, that they play well and bring India queue of trophies.

He is more in Jadeja category so it will be very difficult for him to get into the line-up just because of the fact that Jadeja has so much experience. However I see where you are going because he can be a good back-up but he definitely needs to prove himself much more in domestic season rather than just one IPL season.

I don't think he deserve a chance ahead of players like Axar Patel,Amit Mishra,Piyush Chawla, if he couldn't do anything special other than his action.I think he has got a lot more to prove.
