Whatever happened in Australia was a stellar and out-of-this-world performance. Don't think it would be fair to expect that to happen again. Besides, the upcoming batsmen are Bumrah, Shami and Siraj. We would be very lucky if we get 10 runs (combined) from them.I don't feel England are anywhere near to winning this match yet. There are still 4 wickets to be taken. Remember Gabba? Our last 4 wickets added somewhere near a 200. Yes, we don't have batsman who are capable to do that in this game but let us not write off Pant.
Sure England has an upper hand but I am confident that we have enough in our bowling to defend 200 runs on a deteriorated Day 5 pitch against a not so confident England batting. The first hour as usual is going to be crucial.
But yes, I do agree that as long as Pant is at the crease, there is some hope of 30-40 runs.
