Surely Chris Woakes doesn’t need his heel to bat well, maybe he should come in and just bat 3 hameed opens and suddenly we’ve got a great technique of a top order!

Unbelievable!! From starting the day staring at defeat to dismissing the opposition in two sessions is stuff that we can only dream of.

England have a lot to ponder about. They are missing Stokes big time. I feel Mo did alright for his comeback. Wood was impressive on the 4th day. Sam Curran had one bad Test. Broad is out of the series. Anderson may not be in position to rest/sit out a Test.

My only concern is that India has a history of losing the next Test after reaching a high. I hope, just hope it doesn't happen this time around.

On a lighter note, the expressions from Kohli (where he kept running from the slips) upon the fall of a wicket was amusing. Say what you want about him, the passion and emotions shown by him is bound to motivate and keep the adrenaline rushing among the others.

That was a crazy win

Way too many unexpected things happened on a single day

Our tail did not just wag, it thrashed
Our bowlers shot out England on a good wicket for just 120 runs (WTF happened there)
Virat actually ended up making some really good decisions and even won a few referrals

NUTS !

That being said, we drew Trent Bridge and won at Lord's in 2014 as well and then went on to lose 3-1 :facepalm

So yea ... not going to go into a frenzy of crazy expectations of a series win here

The match at Leeds might well decide the result of this series. I remember how we won a Test match at Lord's in 2014 and England bounced back with a big win at Southampton and the loss hurted India's confidence to the extent that they lost the series 3-1 after leading England 1-0 after first 2 Tests.

My most optimistic prediction was a 3-2 victory to England but I think if we win by a 100+ margin at Leeds the series might well end 4-0 in India's favour. If I be realistic at present a 3-0 victory is what I can predict. India's utmost priority now is to win the 3rd Test.

One thing I remember about that series was Dhoni's lacklustre captaincy, where matches just seemed to pass him by. England also had Cook and Bell who would walk into this team and a veteran bowler called James Anderson.

India were pinning their hopes on Stuart Binny, Varun Aaron and Pankaj Singh.

Plus we did not have a pace bowling line-up like we have now. Shami and Bhuvi were inexperienced back then and Ishant was a different bowler that time. Also, Rohit looks a lot stable and Dhawan as an opener unlike that tour where Vijay, Rahane and Dhoni were carrying our batting single handedly. KLR can easily take up the role of Vijay in 2014 in 2021. That century in Durham did a world of good to KLR.

That's the difference this time round. The batting is somewhat similar but the bowlers are the best we ever had in a squad.

Yeah, it's a big difference. Rahul is doing alright for a fourth choice opener. :lol

Way better than England's first choice openers actually. :lol

I still fear Anderson bringing out his best in the later part of the series. We have 8-days of rest for the players and could prove to be enough for a bowler like Jimmy to get back to his best.

An unpopular opinion, but I think Anderson performed better in 2018 series as compared to 2014. In 2014 he just dominated Kohli but in 2018 he made life incredibly tough for the Indian batsman Kohli apart. Infact in 2014, bowlers like Chris Jordan and Liam Plunkett were chipping in with wickets while Moeen literally closed the passage of runs that India were looking for.
