Is the Indian team management trying to say something with this "Jadeja at No.5" thingy? :D

Excellent hundred by Rohit!! This might have been very good conditions for batting, but to Rohit's credit, he has provided India with solid starts in this series especially when the ball is moving around at the beginning. I did not rate him for succeeding as a test opener, and so far, he has done everything to make me look like a fool! And another solid knock from Pujara, though its frustrating that he seems to be gobbled up every time the new ball is taken!! There is definitely some flaw (most likely mental, I guess?) that has crept into his game. A No. 3 cannot be this susceptible against the new ball. I hope he has earned that extra time for himself in test cricket to iron out his flaws while still playing for the national team.

Anything below 350 with 4 sessions and England will fancy themselves. India easily need 350+ lead and with just a tiny bit over 3 sessions of play left in this test. Bat most of Day 4 and they'd be in front.

Massive day for India. The conditions were perfect for batting for once, glad to see India did not let that slip by.

Big props to Rohit - a great innings and dare I say a match defining one. Without doubt he has been the top performer in this series for India - something that I didn't honestly expect.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves though. The ball is still new and it does something in the first hour. So we might get knocked down within 50-70 runs. All 3 results possible but nice to see us having a bit of an edge.

Agree that we need a 320+ target for England to win this. Something around 250 and England will walk home.

I would say just play out the first session and then go all out attack after drinks break in post Lunch session. This is what England did back in 2018 and they just had enough to win the test by 117 runs.

Never thought I would see Rohit above Kohli in test rankings. A wonderful knock. Also Puji should just play second second innings :p With Rahane moved down the order, I think that is a message sent across to him. If he fails again tomorrow, I am sure he will be dropped for Mayank, Vihari or SKY.

No one will say it. because it's Kohli.

Yes, what a move! In the twilight of Rohit's career!

Kohli's contribution to Indian cricket is immense. His exuberance, energy and his batsmanship will never be forgotten. As captain, he has revolutionised the importance of fitness culture in the team which has led to a battery of fast bowlers bowling at full pelt for longer. Other than that, he has been a tactical sham and like his mentor and current national team coach, an empty vessel which makes a lot of noise and more often than not sounds silly/stupid.

You can check my older posts on Rohit the test cricketer. In fact, I wrote a whole piece on how Rohit is more technically sound for the red ball game than Kohli. But, his mind was always not in it. He's found his mojo late and fair play to him. But, it is also a fact that 99% cricketers would never have got the chance/chances Rohit has. The very fact that we reward white ball success by giving caps for red ball cricket is a sign of structural failure.

People will say that Kohli promoting Rohit changes his Test career but it hasn't.
Yes bro. Kohli's decision to let Rohit open did not change his Test career but Dhoni's decision to let Rohit open in LO format changed his LO career.
Dhoni is great!
Give him an ordinary batsman, he will make him Bradman.
Give him Zimbabwe, he will make them World Champion.
