Who will win the Test series?

India couldn't have scored 191 without Shardul
They should never have conceded a 95+ run lead after having England 65/5
India couldn't have gained such a big lead without Thakur & Pant along with Rohit's hundred and Pujara's knock.
They should've been winning by 200+ runs had Ashwin been playing.
We just escaped this one because of Bumrah.
I don't think winning by 157 runs, having had a first innings deficit of 100, is an escape.
Is that Kohli showing off? I will not play the best off-spinner in the world to make sure the match is even, and England is in with a chance.

If he hasn't played Ashwin on this Oval surface, I don't think there is any chance he will play at Old Trafford.
Old Trafford could be more likely to offer spin, depending on the weather over the next few days. I wouldn't be surprised if Ashwin came in for Siraj who looked tired.

I think if they are looking to replace Siraj, Shami is likely to come in.

Rohit and Rahul have both been outstanding for India at the top of the order. So, I really hope Rohit is fit for that last test match. If Rohit is out of the next game and with Ashwin unlikely to play, I don't think they will drop Rahane because of the lack of leadership in the team. However, if Rohit is fit, it will be interesting to see if India gives one more match to Rahane or if Vihari will come in.

There was no movement off the pitch and this is when the Indian pacers have struggled right throughout. Jadeja was economical but he wasn't as threatening. At 131/2 with Hameed well set on 66 & Root just coming in it was well in control of England. Pope had batted beautifully in the first innings while Bairstow was short of runs and was an innings due. So the pressure was at peak and without Bumrah getting those wickets India wouldn't have won.

So, Captain Kohli was bang on with his selections and decisions eh

Every replacement from the previous game paid off with critical contributions. Lord Shardul lorded it with the bat and ball.

Umesh was brilliant, got Root before he could get us.

Rohit the opener paying off richly.

That move to retain the old ball and hand it over to Shardul was quite genius and ended the game then and there.

What a genius he is

I will tell you what will decide the series result.

Tailender’s Batting
Thank you @NILAYSHAH60 for reminding this.

I know I won't get much traction here compared to other greats over here.

However it is these things which I relish.

Indeed the tail batting played a major role in India's success yet. (not to forget the opening partnership as well)

Why did Rohit become MOTM? Why not Shardul? Why are batsmen given more importance in cricket?
