The Indian team is going to tour Ireland for a 2-match T20I series starting on 26th June. They will play a Test against England on 1st of July which is going to be a part of the previous series that was postponed due to Covid scare in the Indian camp.

The Indian T20I side that will tour Ireland is going to be Captained by Hardik Pandya who will be the 5th player to Captain India this year!

Just had a look at Ireland's squad and just trying to figure out how would their line-up look like

Stephen Doheny :bat:
Paul Stirling :bat:
Andy McBrine :ar:
Andrew Balbirnie :c::bat:
Gareth Delany :bat:
Harry Tector :bat:
Curtis Campher :ar:
Lorcan Tucker :wk:
Mark Adair :bwl:
Josh Little :bwl:
Craig Young :bwl:

Just read that Doheny is coming from a very successful campaign, so I would like to see him get a game. Also McBrine experiment in West Indies helped Ireland to a great extent in ODIs so why not try him there in T20Is as well?

The side just looks to be a mix blend of experience and youth.

Hope I am going the right way @Aislabie

For India I would just have this side-

Ruturaj Gaikwad :bat:
Ishan Kishan :bat:
Suryakumar Yadav :bat:
Rahul Tripathi :bat:
Hardik Pandya :c::ar:
Dinesh Karthik :wkb:
Axar Patel :ar:
Bhuvneshwar Kumar :bwl:
Harshal Patel :bwl:
Yuzvendra Chahal :bwl:
Avesh Khan :bwl:

Ruturaj gave some great starts to India in the South Africa series so as Kishan so there should be no change over there. You can't keep Suryakumar Yadav out, you just can't! Now since there is no place in the top 3, Samson sits out and Tripathi comes in. DK & Hardik will act as floaters while Axar at 7 will act as a cushion. The bowling unit should just reamin the same for the first game to get an India how they perform in different conditions.

Arshdeep Singh would be the first guy who should replace any of these players. Samson for Tripathi doesn't sound bad either.

I feel this is probably the last chance for Ruturaj to put himself as a backup opener for the t20 WC and I don’t agree that he gave great starts. He probably gave just one.

It's not far off, although they're more likely to put Delany down at eight or something. Mark Adair is also in stonking form with the bat so I wouldn't be surprised to see him get a go in the top seven.

Honestly though the Irish batting order is always a fun surprise come game day - never quite what you expect

I feel this is probably the last chance for Ruturaj to put himself as a backup opener for the t20 WC and I don’t agree that he gave great starts. He probably gave just one.
In 1st T20I, India scored 57 for first wicket in 6.2 overs off which Ruturaj scored 23(15).
In 2nd T20I, Ruturaj scored 1(4).
In 3rd T20I, India scored 97 in 10 overs off which Ruturaj scored 57(35) and a half-century in 30 balls
In 4th T20I, he scored 5(7)
In 5th T20I he scored 10(12)

So by great starts I meant those innings in 1st & 3rd T20Is. Yes, he did not score runs in other games but he showed intent to go after the bowlers. So he will atleast open in the Ireland series.

@NILAYSHAH60 I think it would be best to combine the Test against England in this thread too.

Just saw Bumrah & Pant play for Leicestershire. That's interesting!

Good to see Srikar Bharat being amongst the runs. I am more concerned about how the likes of Pujara and Pant performs. Poor Bumrah was taken on the attack early in the day by Rohit & Gill.

Five-for Roman Walker who warmed up for India by taking 2 wickets in two innings Vs Worcestershire 2nd XI.

Rohit, Vihari, Kohli, Jadeja and Thakur. Not bad wickets to take.
If this was Bangladesh he'd be called up for the next Test

He is a very fundamentally sound bowler though; strong action which can pretty regularly get him into low-mid 80s, and a decent wrist position that gets him lots of seam novement. Not quite sure why he hasn't played more county cricket yet
