Left arm pace bowlers and Rohit Sharma have been a one-sided affair for quite a while now!
Who gave him the last over?Stupid Avesh khan you beauty
Rohit Sharma | Losing skipper: Firstly, there weren't enough runs on the board. We didn't bat well. The pitch was playing nicely but we didn't apply ourselves. But this can happen. When you are doing something as a batting group, you might not always succeed. But we will learn from this. It is all about giving opportunities to these guys. [On the last over] We know what Bhuvi does for us; he has been doing it for years. Unless you give chances to guys like Avesh and Arshdeep you'll never know. But it is just one game. They have the skills and the talent and it is all about backing them. I am really proud of the bowlers and the team. Targets such as these can get over in 13-14 overs but we dragged it to the last over. I thought the guys executed the plans and really happy with the way the guys bowled. We have to look at some things in our batting. But I will say it again and again, this is the approach we want with the bat. We won't panic. We won't change anything after one loss.
As Rohit said in the post match presentation, Bhuvi we all know does well in the death, trying Avesh or any other bowler don't do any harm instead of piling up the win record.
Yeah Avesh has not done well in few of the IPL death overs game I have seen but has been good as well its about handling pressure.
Given his numbers and the scores at 5 in the last year or so in T20's, think that's the position to get the best out of him in the context of the WI XI. He's had a pretty big impact at the death overs for RR and Delhi Capitals in the IPL. And at the same time, WI lack experience down the order. The #6/#7 spots would be taken by two of Holder/Shepherd/Odean, the latter two still are relatively inexperienced. In terms of talent you could say the same thing about Pooran, on his day he could play a gamechanging innings once he's set which makes him another good option to bat at #3 as well. Not liking Hetty at five though. He is the type of talent that wins you games at three once he is in.
Funny, I was about to comment the same. His hairstyles too are on the same linesFeel like Kyle Mayers is trying to step into the gap left by Chris Gayle.
Rohit Sharma and injuries is match made in heaven!
