India tour of WestIndies - June/July 2017

The rain is actually going to make things far better for West Indies. If India don't bat full 50 overs, their slow start will mean they don't reach a good enough total. And West Indies batting second will have an easier total to chase due to DLS. India deserve to see such embarrassing defeats before they abandon this age old strategy.

India's batting strategy is getting more flak, as seen on Cricinfo comments. Its high time former cricketers and influential cricketers start talking about it before we see the inner circle of the team hear about it and give their strategy a re-think. There is a very uncomfortable predictability about India's batting.

196 needed in 26 overs. Match start in 30 minutes from now.

Clearly the rain is reminding and teasing us that don't be happy if CT17 is over. I'll keep raining in Windies also.

Captain sets the tone. Dhawan's batting is laborious and he's made it impossible to drop him. Serves Kohli's purpose. Rahane shouldn't have even been in the RPS starting XI. An India start is much of an idea as to how 'outdated' our limited overs cricket is.

The Indians got off the hook here, saved by the rain.
Exactly, we just got saved by rains. I am pretty sure a team thrashed by Aghanistan would have scored 200 runs in 26 overs easily. We have the most pathetic bowling lineup as it is playgirl

Much more faster scoring rate today from Rahane and Dhawan! Hope they can keep this up and not slow down.

Dhawan is definitely booking his place in the Indian squad for eternity atleast in odis with his performances in CT and now in the West Indies. With Shashtri coming in as next Coach( most likely ) who compared him to ABD ,Dhawan might break into tests as well with Rahul and Vijay Still recovering from their injuries.

These guys make batting look so easy, Dhawan has shown some great consistency that's something which he lacked all these years but I feel this is also the time to give new guys like Pant a chance. Good to notice Kuldeep being included though.

I hope Raina will get in form. One problem I feel India have is that along with scoring slow in the first ten overs, we are really falling apart in the middle order. There has to be a consistency in rotating the strike and hitting a boundary at least once or twice every two overs. It doesn't help when Yuvraj gets out after 4 off 10 balls. I am not a big fan of Raina, but I think he is ideal to slot in for Yuvi because he is a middle over's specialist. In my mind, a cautious approach is not bad at all, but India have to make up for it in the middle oversion, getting those 1 and 2''s and getting those boundaries every now and then.
