India v England 2008

India still lead by 171 runs,Eng have 4 wickets remaining,India would like to get 2-3 wickets in 1st session, and they would certainly like to get a lead of 100runs min,its mostly heading towards draw, still batsman to come for Eng are Prior,Broad (who can bat a bit),Eng might play for time, mostly a draw, unless India bowls out Eng in 1st session,Sehwag fires,India gets a good lead of 300 today (if Sehwag fires, anything is possible)

Yes,mostly a draw, lets see..lets hope Sehwag fires once again, its really fun to watch him batting like T20 in tests!

If India bowl England out for a lead of 100+ in the first session and Sehwag-Gambhir smack it around, then we can look for a target of 400 where we declare into the first session of the final day and then have a go at England to see if they can chase it. Dhoni should actually do it. Or it would be good to see India bowled out with a lead of 350+ thereby setting an interesting game up.

But frankly, I would be happy with a 1-0 series win for India. We have done well in this series to get that cup.

I'm afraid we are out of the Test. It's difficult to win the game. If we could have batted a session into tomorrow, we could have forced ourselves into the game. Now, we'll be happy to get a draw out of it

Now, is that the attude you want from your captain?

The match would be set up nicely if India get bowled out with a lead of around 330-350 which irrespective of what happened in the past couple of weeks with run chases, is a difficult total.

That was...quick. One minute Fog, next minute England are bowled out. Wow.

India are essentially 151/0 now. Can they get 250 more runs in quick time, and declare by the end of today, giving them one day to get 10 wickets? Will Dhoni be willing to do that?

England are missing Hoggard.

Anderson is crap, Broad is useless, Harmison is so hot and cold it isn't funny.

Hoggard had a brilliant match in the first test in Sri Lanka, then suddenly after two poor tests in which the rest of his team also bowled poorly he has apparently suddenly "lost his zip".

Hoggard took enough wickets in county cricket last summer to deserve another chance but instead they went with Pattinson who probably never even had any "zip" in the first place.

England should give Hoggard a run in the early tests next summer and see what he can do, and they should also risk trying Simon Jones again.

Jones had the best county season of his entire career last summer, and managed to stay fit, so I don't know why the selectors feel he is a "risk", they should use him in the Ashes or he will be too old by the time they think of trying him again.

You may say I am living in the past by suggesting they pick Hoggard and Jones, but their form was good last summer, and the new generation have had plenty of chances and hardly produced anything of note.

Basically England are playing Broad as a specialist number 8 batsman, while his bowling has about as much impact as Collingwood.

I'm sure Australia would prefer to face Broad and Anderson instead of Hoggard and Jones.

Harbhajan has bowled beautifully today morning, with perfect seam, and with scrambled seam position,Eng 6 wickets fell for 22 runs...Now with Sehwag there, runs will come easily..India would like to get lead of 400 runs, and if Sehwag stays there for 2 sessions,India will be definately in good position

"He's big, he's bad, he's better than his dad," chant the Barmy Army of Stuart Broad, not completely in tune.

Hehe.

I'm surprised as to why Harmy is back. I thought he didn't have the mettle to be a test cricketer?

Sehwag needs to fire once again here, only he can up the run rate...Dravid the man next to come wont attack as much as Sehwag...

I just feel if these 2 opening bastman play there shots England will go a defensive here, also there are 2 factors to watch for
1:Fog (delayed start)
2:Bad Light

These two has affected this test match,if India declares today after playing two sessions, and if they get 380-400 total lead (now they have total lead of 160 till lunch, they need 220-240 more,or max tomorrow's 10 overs of 1st session)Eng will definately go defensive, they will play for draw, bad light and fog will help them

how many of you think eng can pull this one? Just wait and watch how this turns out to be one of the classy match ever for engalnd.

What a runout by Bell? woosshhh.Cleaned up all the stumps to dismiss Sehwag.
Now Dravid is on crease. We can expect a similar innings of patience and resistence and the match will continue to be boring .
