India vs West Indies 3rd Test

day 1

Tendulkar ton as India tear into Windies

Sachin Tendulkar rolled back the years with an exciting unbeaten 119 ,his captain Rahul Dravid gave him plenty of support with an unbeaten 97 , just 3 runs short of his century ,the pair put on a 3rd wicket partnership of 197 as the Windies ran out of idea`s .
Just the two wickets falling in day one firist it was Ganguly getting an insdide edge to Baugh off Bravo for 37 then Taylor had Sehwag caught at 2nd slip for 41 then after that short lived joy Tendulkar & Dravid stole the show .

Day 2

Windies hard work gone to waste after yet another batting collapse

With India starting day 2 on 308-2 you would have thought it was going to be another long day in the field for the tourists ,but whatever was said to them in the dressing room at stumps on day 1 it certainly worked , Rahul Dravid joined Tendulkar in getting a ton but it was short lived joy for the hosts as Tendulkar went trying a pull shot off Taylor only finding Wavell Hinds at long off ,it was an exellent knock by Tendulkar getting to 136 , 2 balls later Taylor had Laxman caught behind for a duck and Dravid soon followed Laxman to the dressing room for 111 again Taylor doing the damage , the Indian tail put up brief resistance but the Windies were on song with the ball ,India eventully bowled out for 433 having been 338-2 at one stage .
With their tails up Windies openers arrived at the crease and started off well but when the first wicket fell (Hinds (21) it was a start of a all too common collapse which has hampered the tourists in this test series , Lara(5) Sarwan(1) Chanderpaul(9) & Morton (4) went in the space of 3 overs with Munaf Patel doing most of the damage to the middle order ,Windies limped along to stumps on 155-6 .

India vs West Indies 3rd Test

Day 4

India made to wait thanks to Chanderpaul & Bravo

West Indies had their best days cricket since the series started ,having been on 213-3 at the start of days play it was important they dug in , Sarwan only added 8 runs to his overnight score being bowled by Zaheer Khan ,but Chanderpaul was in awesome form he got some added help from Runako Morton who hit a fine 45 before becoming one of Harbhajan Singh`s 4 victims ,in came Dwayne Bravo who had smashed 56 in the 1st innings he again showed class with some well timed shots through the covers.
Shiv Chanderpaul celebrated his patient ton with a cover drive off the luckless Pathan , Chanderpaul 100 coming off 226 balls with 8 boundries ,Bravo got his 2nd 50 of the test and things looked brighter for the tourists but a inswinging yorker by Patel removed Chanderpaul for 130 and the innings fell away Bravo left holding his bat on 60 , Windies all out for 435 , meaning the hosts need 230 to win the 3rd Test .
They had to face 2 nervous overs by Windies before close but happily saw them through ending 2-0 , 228 to win on day 5 , a day of sun predicted in the forcast.

India vs West Indies 3rd Test

Day 5

India wrap up series whitewash

India beat West Indies by 6 wickets in the 3rd and final test match , starting the day on 2-0 India looked solid making sure the Windies never got that early wicket , Ganguly was first to go edging to Lara off Mohammed for 24 but thankfully for India Sehwag was on top of his form getting to his 50 , he was going along nicely with Dravid until coming down the wicket to Mohammed and missing with Baugh close on hand to stump him on 81 ,a few more wickets fell but it was too late for the tourists because Sehwag had done the damage earlier on , the wining runs being hit just after tea.
The sides now move on to the ODI`s ,the squads will be announced later on today .

Sehwag knock too much for the tourists

An exellent innings of 133 not out from Virender Sehwag proved too much for the Windies to peg back ,put into bat India were in bother at 18-2 until Sehwag unleashed some aggresive boundries aided by Tendulkar(35) , with Windies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo on the end of the punishment Surish Raina chipped in with an important 50 not out to give the hosts a total of 246-5 off their allocated 50 overs .
West Indies again found their middle order non exsistant as they chased 246 , Wavell Hinds again put in a decent knock hitting 6 boundries in his 57 before falling to Zaheer Khan but Samuels(0) Chanderpaul(6) and captain Sarwan (6) all failed badly , Sarwan run out going for a single that never was and wasn`t in the picture when the bails came off , a late tail comeback gave the score some decency about it but Winides fell short by 76 runs when the final wicket went.

India vs West Indies 2nd ODI Delhi

India destroy sorry Windies

A supberb all-round performance from Verinder Sehwag proved way too much for a struggling West Indies , India won the toss and elected to bat scoring 262-5 off their 50 overs with Sehwag hitting his second consecutive hundred ,when on 100 he tried a long hop down the wicket and was caught by Samuels off Banks ,Tendulkar also played well with a 52 .
Again for the tourists top players failed with the bat , most notable was captain Sarwan out for a duck ,both openers had been removed easily and if it was wasn`t for a 46 by Chanderpaul it would had been curtains long before innings did end , India now lead 2-0 in the series as the teams move onto Faridabad , a win for India would clinch the series.

India vs West Indies 3rd ODI at Faridabad

West Indies once again crumble despite restricting the hosts

India beat the West Indies by 17 runs in the 3rd ODI at Faridabad to secure the series with still two matches remaining , West Indies won the toss and put the Indians into bat this looked to be a great move when they were struggling at the crease for runs ,good tight bowling and fielding by the tourists had India panicking for runs only an unbeaten 51 from Y.Singh and a 42 by Tendulkar were worthy enough ,Daren Powell took 3-31 in a total of 193-7 off their 50 , West Indies only needed to keep up with a run-rate of 3 to win their first match in India .
The reply started not too badly but its been the middle order in the past thats faltered , Ganga playing his first match of the tour went for 10 then Chanderpaul for 23 but Gayle smashed his way to a well earned 50 they still looked favorites at this stage , then when Gayle went for 78 caught and bowled off Sehwag the innings collapsed not for the first time in this tour , captain Sarwan once again failed bamboozled by a Kumble beauty that kept low , then Baugh(0) and Bravo (1) Banks(11) soon followed ,Windies soon bowled out for 176 , 17 runs short .
