Ya Sadly you are right.

After seeing IPL in its second phase without the top stars players (including players who've left for their national duty) I feel the ICL is better.

I know you're a big fan of the IPL, but I've actually found a few good things about the ICL:

1. They're not so big on the commercialization aspect. The coverage on Zee Sports has been much more "sports-like" and professional than the bollywood trash of Sony. Add to this the annoying ads in between overs and the poor, unprofessional anchors and the lack of good commentators in the IPL. Plus Sony Max don't show highlights of earlier games at convenient times.

2. The ICL was all about the younger players and brought some interest in the domestic talent. It's made quite a few stars like Ali Mortaza, Thiru Kumaran, T.P.Singh and so on.

3. None of the contracted foriegn players for the ICL don't leave half-way through the event as they're either recently retired or discarded by their national sides.

4. I actually felt that the ICL foriegn players had a bit more loyalty to the league than some of the players in the IPL who seem to have come here purely for the money.

No Actually he got a Point.
I have felt same when I was watching Chennai's match.
Now IPL has settled big standard before the start of tournament and they have been watchable when Hussey has scored 100 in opening match and Hayden has fired afterwards but If you see same team now then You feel so boring.

Absolutely agreed. Some of the replacement foriegn players in the IPL (example: Stephen Fleming) have been worse than the domestic talent shown in the ICL.

All accepted hari, all your points are valid.Really, have no answer to this.

For another,i also feel that the IPL is too long.44 days-well,i myself havent been watching the matches.

LOL, there are so many comments about the ICL and the IPL and the comparisons. Lets be honest, where do you compare and what are the points to compare, if we start with players then its a matter of opinion, which of the two has the best, because if best is by name only, then there leaves alot to be said for the IPL from what they are currently delivering, VVX Laxman, Dravid, Flemming, Dhoni, Chanderpaul, Sarwan, Styris, need I go on, these guys have delivered nothing for their big name and well bigger hype.
Then I guess you can compare, or try to compare facilities, and from all data written, the IPL playes at the same venues Test and ODIS are played, can one really compare that to the venue(s) that the ICL use??
Cricket is cricket and the world knows in India and with the BCCI it is big politics, and to some extent even with the ICC.
So it is not a level playing field and as such the two cannot be compared, and I believe all things equal on any given day the stars of the ICL can take the stars of the IPL to school.
The BCCI is so big, or is it pig headed that they are even calling for boards around the world to ban players from the ICL, suddenly the BCCI are the GODS of cricket, well it is a very good thing to see that the county teams did not bend over backwards to their BS, so guys like Kemp, Bonds and others are playing in England under the ECB.
Who then truly have cricket and development of young talent at heart, the IPL or the ICL??

The answer to who is developing cricket under the name of IPL and ICl - No one.

I really do not understand how would one develop the potential of a player by just asking him to play in T20 ?

I'm not sure about IPL, but in the ICL I'm sure that they mentioned that they were going to expand into other forms of the game.

Plus, they're trying to find more grounds to get going with four day cricket, which really would be fantastic for the young players.

What an epic picture.
