Indian Premier League - General Discussion

What a great innings from Stoinis. But I still believe he should’ve been the guy at no. 3...

LOL. Stoinis has seriously messed up with Jordan's brain. He has single-handedly brought Delhi back in this game.

I don't understand the hype around Jordan in death overs. He has been praised & rated very highly by the UK/Skyports experts - the likes of Hussain , Atherton etc. but every time I have seen him bowl at the death he is very very ordinary to say the least.

He is like Umesh Yadav version of India at the death.

Yeh I would say he is good when he gets it right as he did recently in the series against Australia. However, he doesn't get it right too often and he is very inconsistent. It is probably one of the hardest things to do in a t20 game, to bowl at death but he has been brought in specifically for that role.

To be fair who could have bowled against that onslaught?

Barely saw him use any of his variations or slower balls and he did not land a single proper yorker, this is most definitely not the best version of him. On his day there are few better and judging him on this one game is too harsh.[DOUBLEPOST=1600617574][/DOUBLEPOST]

Pretty much, Stoinis looked to be in a different zone to everyone else!

I feel this being the first game, Capitals will adjust as season progresses. Top class effort from Iyer, Pant, Stoinis. Really good to see Pant play the way he did, real mature.

Yupp as I said, it is one of the most challenging things to do in a T20 game. However, it was just surprising to see him not use any variations as @Bevab has mentioned above. He just went fast and didn't try to vary the pace. Stoinis did struggle with the change of pace when Cottrell bowled to him so that wouldn't have been a bad idea.

Yep fair enough. This could still prove a challenging score.

Ashwin will be crucial for Delhi here. He knows these Punjab players inside out.[DOUBLEPOST=1600619970][/DOUBLEPOST]Oh wow, he is on fire. Can we get Ashwin vs Maxwell contest already?

Brilliant from Ashwin. I felt he bowled a doosra but replays made it clear that it was an arm-ball.
