Indian Premier League - General Discussion

What caught SRH off guard was Marcus opening.
Not exactly... They were ready for it with the field placements right on the money with Stoinis surviving a simple catch...

Had that catch been taken, who knows what would’ve happened

Doesn't matter who people are rooting for or something, back our instincts, we're there and we'll lift it for the 5th time!
No doubt, MI start as favorites which means they should be lifting the trophy, but I just want a new team to life the trophy.

Imagine an IPL where all teams have lifted the trophy except RCB. :D

Safe to say SRH exceeded expectations. Not the ideal result for us fans but I guess they did the best with what they had; especially considering

  • Losing first choice all-rounder in the first game itself
  • Losing its premier bowler midway
  • Losing utility player, 3D Shankar
  • Losing a rejuvenated opener Saha

Proud of the efforts, well played SRH.

To be honest this proved to be a blessing in disguise in form of Holder
This actually might hold true, Marsh is the better T20 batsman, but Holder is the better bowler. He took over with the new ball from Bhuvi pretty well and was superb in the last 4 games during SRH's run to the playoffs. I don't think Marsh would've provided adequately with the ball had he not been injured and Bhuvi still being injured near halfway through the season.

A lot of positives for SRH this season, I think they have the right players in the squad barring an experienced Indian batsman, specifically in the middle order. Pandey stepped up for one game with a killer knock but was rather average throughout the tournament. I believe someone mentioned above, but if Pandey performs well for India at #5 in T20I's this could allow Williamson to play more comfortably at #3 and have someone like Garg settle down at 4 or have an experienced Indian batsman bat there. Samad should be our finisher next season, with time he will become a lot better and he's shown a lot of potential.

Dc being Dc against MI!

This already feels over.

If only the Pant of the last three IPLs was there at the crease...

Let us wait for the death overs and see what he does. This innings just seems a bit exciting from him.

In comparison to the dross he has served this season, today's performance is absolutely mental indeed!
