Lucknow and Ahmadabad is the next 2 franchise teams...A week ago, the tender for addition of new cities was announced. It seems they have trimmed the list down to 6 cities and have put up a base price of INR 2000 crore.
On what basis have these 6 cities being shortlisted? Some articles quote sources saying that the league was imbalanced and hence the East, North balancing act. Which corporate conglomerate, in their right mind would invest INR 2000 crore (base price) for these cities(bar Ahmedabad)? I think the move is heavily political and perhaps aimed at the fact that only one city can be brought in.

All these cities are way more popular and advanced as compared to the above list of 6 tier-4 cities. Really not able to understand the BCCI's logic here.
