So been out of commission for the last 2 days(family time). This is a great start to IPL. We could have not asked for a better start. We havent won against CSK in the last 5 years and beating them and starting the tone for the next years to come was important. We also need to do the same against MI. Our bowling was top notch and only a Dhoni Jaddu special could have done that. We gave away 20 runs too many.
Our XI was good and I hope we keep this XI even after Finch comes in. Rahane is out there to prove himself to everyone and has a fire inside his belly and we just need someone like him guiding Iyer to greater length. Rana, Iyer and Billings following makes it easy as all can go berserk or play sensitively if we are say 20/2.
Our bowling leaving Russel was top notch. Russel should only be bowling 2 overs and Iyer should be bowling remaining 2. Also please take away the ball from Russel in death. He tends to leak a lot of runs.
On the Mumbai Delhi match, that was an amazing victory for Delhi. My top 4 teams are KKR Mumbai, Delhi CSK (later 3 in no order) so it was fine to see either one win. Kishan played a nice inning and so did Rohit! Mumbai will need some time getting used to the new team and players. Axar's that inning was really good. We need as many players as possible in form and big hitters for the WC later on.
Faf and RCB did well but PBKS did not have KL Rahul so they just had to win. People call Kohli Chokli, but I feel KL is a bigger culprit. RCB did not do anything wrong, had runs on board but they faced a KL less Punjab.
Onto todays match, will be routing for Gujarat but I have no problem if rain falls and both take a team, just not interested in any team except Shubman Gill so tilting towards Gujarat.
