Indian Premier League - General Discussion

The one team whose auction strategy genuinely puzzled me the most was SRH, glad to see that they’re proving me right so far.
Too many players of same mould.
They started the auction strong and then got stuck on one type.

Went to the stadium today (or yesterday now) for the match, was a pretty fun experience
What was surprising was the lack of supporters of SRH, literally the whole stadium was cheering for LSG which is surprising since LSG are a brand new team and SRH have been successful for a while now

Quality not quantity.

The Goenka group is running a lot of campaign through their sponsors to give free entry to the public.

Met a guy in Gym last week who works in Garmin says he has free tickets for his family & friends for every LSG match and he has been in stadium for each of their match across Mumbai.

Edit - Garmin is one of the sponsors for LSG.

They did the same in the 2 years that they ran Rising Pune as well. Usually they hand out flags, free face painters, the wuwuzelas and a few jerseys right outside the stadium. So, doesnt surprise me that the side had more support.

Good fight. But I don't see a bright future for SRH. Kane's definitely in the wrong team. Too much to do single handedly.

Okay, this Samad guy. He was retained. He has had many chances. Still doesn't strike any confidence. Sorry state of affairs for the team I'm afraid. The other big name, Pooran, is a hit and miss player. On his day he will destroy the opposition but sadly, such days come rare.

Skipping IPL if it moves to apple TV :facepalm
Even Netflix and Facebook are also likely to join.

BCCI will earn a lot from the media rights but this will surely decrease the viewership of IPL if it will not come on normal TVs, you can only watch through their subscriptions. :facepalm2:

Does Apple have a channel OR will they show it off a digital platform?

The ITT states that the BCCI has the power to choose anyone other than the highest bidder as well. If the digital broadcast doesn't reach an adequate number of people, Apple might end up being disqualified.
