Indian Premier League - General Discussion

Why not drop SKY and have Raina because he is the 4th highest run-scorer in all-time IPL and averages 30 with a SR of 135 in T20Is?
The problem is that you fail to notice the impact Rohit has on MI. He was been striking close to 200 in Powerplay and has hit the most sixes for MI in the Powerplay. Plus he brings a sense of calmness to the side that others fail to do despite the skill & quality.

To think that Gowtham warmed the benches for an entire season (title winning, though) last year, is such a big puzzle. But he's proving why he got as much money last year in a mini auction (there was lot of banter about him being overpriced).

Why on Earth 9 Crore though?

First tactical "retire-out" of IPL, and who is it? R Ashwin! :D I didn't even know that such a rule/benefit existed for teams in IPL! Pretty well used there by Ashwin! If this game goes close and Rajasthan win, this could be a masterstroke!

I see articles saying that IPL allows 1 strategic "Retire Out" per innings.

This LSG batting lineup reshuffle made no sense at all. Stoinis batting at 8 is a joke. Even so coming in when the game is virtually gone.

I have been actually calling for this for ages! It's the future of T20 cricket.

And like most rules in cricket, the 1 strategic retire out rule is nonsense. If someone pretends to be injured, are the umpires going to carry out a diagnosis like doctors? It just opens up an avenue for dubious nonsense and the ICC and IPL are champions at it.

Good to see Ashwin retire out but I dont think its going to happen as frequently as many people claim. At the end it is a retire out and not retire hurt and it affects the stats of batsmen. Today was kind of the perfect storm for it, you dont see a bowler batting above a batsman too often
It might sound a little backwards but batsmen really are wary of damaging their stats. Its also why teams dont just run on the last ball every time if they miss it.

LSG, when put under pressure seem to crack. When there's no pressure, they seem a decent side.
Don't forget Gambhir's contribution on this :lol :lol
Personally feel Gambhir lead in a better manner at KKR. Here, he doesn't seem to be in charge. The LSG tactics seem very un-Gambhir like in the few games we have seen so far.
The sad thing about this is that it's gonna be true. He is definitely the next one once Rohit is relieved off his duties.
Pray that KKR win this year. Its quite funny how the media and ex-cricketers have suddenly turned the focus on Shreyas Iyer as the heir apparent.

LSG want to use Stoinis as a finisher in death overs. They did not want to send Hooda and Stoinis in the powerplay, so they sent Gowtham and Holder. They need a number 3 batsman. Pandey Ji failed to meet their expectations. They can drop Chameera and get Lewis back.

Rahul
de Kock
Lewis
Hooda
Stoinis
Krunal
Holder
Badoni/Gowtham
Avesh
Bishnoi
Mohsin/Ankit
