Indian Premier League - General Discussion

Krunal Pandya is a lot like one of those colony cricketers who thinks he should bowl and bat at the top just because he is captain.
Krunal Pandya trying to be like his brother. I am so glad they were knocked out. Its something about the players they have that make me hate them… KL first and currently Krunal.

Main character syndrome for both of the bros, they have too much self conviction. In Hardik’s case I think it is partly justified due to his accomplishments, skill and the fact that he’s according to reports a decent person but in Krunal and KLR’s case it just comes off as funny and self absorbed.

How is KLR involved here?

Waiting for the day a playoff game is washed out. Unbelievable that there is no reserve day for this tournament.

Wow! Gill can easily score a 150 at this rate and maybe more?

Edit: Nevermind

Anytime its a crucial game, Rohit Sharma be like, ok I am out!!

Tremendous knock that by Shubman Gill! He absolutely smackered the daylights outta MI's bowlers. MI briefly threatened when SKY was hammering it everywhere and Tilak played a sensational knock (got out at the wrong time; could've given Rashid a wee more respect at that stage). But Mohit Sharma was just exceptional and he put his foot on MI batting....And how stupid it was for Ishan Kishan to get injured by Jordan's elbow while walking past each other between deliveries? Absolute crazy that it happened and Ishan had to be replaced by Vishnu Vinod as a concussion sub.

In hindsight, it's always better to bat first in knockout games like this where you have pressure of having your journey end. The traditional, old fashioned "scoreboard pressure in a semifinal/final". Mumbai did well in the last game batting first and they reaped the benefits of it. Why choose chasing? This tournament has not been as great for chasing as past IPL's have been. Lot of games have been won by the side batting first and toss has no played no role in deciding the winner.

Must be a crackerjack final. CSK must be feeling elated that they reached the summit clash with the team they have. I wont be surprised if Gujarat successfully defends the title in their home ground like how CSK did it in 2010/2011 and MI did in 2019/2020. They truly have the side for all conditions and an unbeatable side for home conditions. Only chance for CSK is if the wicket aids bowlers much more than what we saw today. If its a 200+ kind of a pitch, CSK will very likely be runners-up of this season.

What a dimwitted tweet.

'dEmoCraTizeD'.

The willful ignorance of the IPL, and more importantly the BCCI isolating Pakistan every way possible has been widely accepted by everyone it seems. But to say they dEmoCraTizeD cricket has got to be the most ignorant, head-in-the-ass take I've seen in from a journalist of any prominence in a very long time. The BCCI doesn't have to acknowledge anything Pakistan related, but where was this praise for Lahore Qalandars when they went back-to-back with the same Afghani, a Zimbabwean and a Namibian in their team?
