Indian Premier League - General Discussion

Excellent comeback by LSG. GT lost the plot after being 120 in 12 overs. I thought Tewatia should have been sent right now with only 3 overs left. No point in left-right combination. It's the runs that count.
Nevermind. Not Tewatia's day today. Just saw his strike rate in IPL is 136 (before today's blob). Isn't encouraging for someone who the team banks upon in last couple of overs to hit sixes.

On the other hand, what an amazing Rich vein of form Sai Sudarshan is in. I won't be surprised if some of the Tamil Nadu fans switch from rooting CSK to GT actually. The latter have shown great faith in some of the local boys.

I don't care if Lockie Ferguson bowls at 170 kmph or has a slower ball equal to the speed of MSD batting, this guy is always getting injured and franchises need to stop buying him no matter whatever talent he has. Always ruining many campaigns.

I had a good look at the CSK squad- not very inspiring, is it? Apart from MSD and Ashwin, they dont seem to have any power hitters in their midst. Conway and Ravindra are there, but they aren't what one would classify as the likes of Hussey and Hayden. I am not counting Jadeja as he seems to be simply playing backyard cricket here.

With the forced withdrawal of Gaikwad, CSK had the perfect opportunity to get a batsman who has shown great reliability and someone with captaincy credentials as well. Their best bets were Kane Williamson and Steve Smith. I'd have gone for Smith, purely cause he has worked well with MS, Fleming and Ash when this team was banned. The other option for them was Bairstow, can create a huge impact at the very top, something that has been lacking with CSK this entire season.

Seifert can do what you asked from Bairstow, in red hot form
