Rajasthan look more solid than last season where they were runners up. With the kind of all round quality that they have and led by a sound captain/coach (Samson-Sangakkara), expecting them to be harder to beat this season.

I think their decision to release Hardik Pandya (or if he wanted to be released in order to captain Gujarat) probably cost them a huge lot. If Hardik was retained, he gives them a solid floater in the middle order, a guy who can bowl crucial overs and take imp wickets and also a proper captaincy material. Mumbai Indians did not see the captaincy potential in Hardik and chose a much older Suryakumar Yadav over Hardik. I would be hugely surprised if Hardik chose to leave, because Mumbai like Chennai is another franchise that players love to be with and wouldnt want to leave due to the environment (and who would want to leave the Ambani owned team )
