I don't think either team will be happy with a tie. It could have gone either way.

Man in central is match referee Farokh Engineer.
Tough decision to make for him.
Actually something shocker here,according to IPL sponser rule in case of rain Match can get delayed till 2 hours after its regular time and there is no rule for Light failure so Match refree can give his personal decision either Tie or Wait!

Actually not. It can happen anywhere at any day.
It is because of Power load. They have tried to use Emergency generators but a Flood light takes very high Voltage.
As Kolkatta is a big city it is not easy to manage power load.
They can?t cut city power for Flood light!!
