I can't believe Vettori was left out of the Daredevils. I guess they prefer pacemen in this form. Because Vettori was the 5th highest wicket taker at the World Twenty/20 and had a 5.33 economy. Shows their strength.

Nice knock from Sehwag. That dropped catch off them really cost Deccan a lot.

Quite sensational innings there from Sehwag. Finally he has clicked in T20 format (he wasnt that big a hit in our world cup win).

By the way - how is the response to this IPL among other countries? I mean, I hear its a roaring success in India with the TRP ratings equalling that of top daily soaps. I also read a recent news where it said that its successful in Australia. How about others? SO far, I have been pretty excited about this tournament and the excitement is already building up towards the latter half of the tournament.

Chennai Super Kings vs Mumbai Indians. Sachin is again not to play! Damn! I wanted CSK to thrash a strong MI team.

Omg

I just realized something. Jaipur vs Mumbai = Warne vs Tendulkar, one of cricket's greatest EVER rivalries between bat and ball.

I'm highly anticipating a Rajasthan vs Mumbai game now! C'mon!

Its on May 7th at Mumbai (Source: Cricinfo).

By that time, Sachin should be fit enough to face Warne. But I guess the rivalry wont look as good as it was before. Sachin has mellowed down over the years (even though this is T20). I guess he will go after it from the start and might get out before Warne comes on.

He was not fit. Thats what Sehwag said at the toss.

That's what is one of the best aspects of the IPL. Lots of existing player rivalries as sidelines to the games and sometimes having to be set aside when the players are on the same team. The mix of players can only benefit the players and thus cricket in general.

not too fuss, who wins today but as i want it to be a close league i will have to go for MI

Sai, isn't it obvious? It's a huge hit everywhere!

It's not actually. It's got very little coverage in England. There has been much more emphasis on the County season over here. Nobody is particularly intereted in the IPL.

Glad to hear that!
Anyway Sachin is not playing today so disappointing for Mumbai.
And Its not easy for Mumbai to beat Chennai without Sachin as in my opinion Chennai is favorite for Final.

Even with Sachin, its not easy for Mumbai, they really dont have a great team.It would be a good contest between Mumbai,Bangalore and Jaipur.I'm guessing Mumbai will be last.

Thats because the ECB did not allow your players to play in it. Had they played,it would have been a hit there too.

Ahh but did the ECB say our players couldn't play? No public statements, ergo you don't know that they did. Tbf, having just come off two winters tours and being once again ruined by the ICC and the BCCI and being forced into a full winter and then a full summer yet again, I imagine a lot of our players would have taken the time to rest and be with their families.

Given option I think all England players would have been here playing in IPL. Stop IPL bashing everyone. Those who dont like it dont watch it. I certainly love it and would feel annoyed when Aussies will leave. No that Mohali will miss Lee. Hes done nothing :mad

Pfft, if you pay the slightest bit of attention, you can see all the tonnes of catches that Mohali drop. That's not his fault.
