Chandigarh Cheetahs batting first lost early wickets,but captain Ross Taylor along with Abdul Razzaq steadied the innings and took them to 156 runs which was supposed to be a good total. Shane Bond bowled well and got 3 wickets as he ran through Cheetahs' middle-order.
Monsters weren't off to a good start as well as they lost Hussey and Karthik cheaply. Guptill and Kaif batted really well and Monsters needed just 6 runs off the last over with Kaif still at the crease. Kyle Mills bowled a beauty of an over and reduced Mohali to 154 runs as they just missed victory by 2 runs.
Ross Taylor for his 58 runs off 42 bowls was named the Man of the match.

Kanpur batting first were off to a disastrous start as they were 27/5 after 4 overs. Mithun Manhas and Brendon McCullum played some good cricket and later in the innings Jerome Taylor smashed Chennai bowlers all over the park as he scored 24 in just 10 deliveries. Kanpur Kiwis got to a real good total of 164 after the start they had.
Chennai Champions were off to a flier as Badrinath and Clarke started stroking the ball to each and every part of the ground. They were well poised at 82/1 in 10 overs and needed more 82 to win. Murali and Ryder put brakes on Chennai's scoring rate by bowling some tight overs. Eventually Chennai fell short by 6 runs as Flintoff bowled a magnificient last over.
Mithun Manhas for his 56 runs off 42 bowls was named the Man of the match.
