Pune Punks' openers Sachin And Sanath started with a bang with Sanath going blizzark and Sachin playing sensibly. The youngster Rahane walked in after Sachin was dismissed and supported Sanath who at the other end was playing marvellously. Sanath made 72 runs and then helped Punks to achieve a respectable total of 166/6. The pitch seemed to be good for bowlers but Pune batsmen made sure they had a good total on the board.
Chasing 167 runs was not going to be easy and Kulasekara made it even more difficult for Jaguars after dismssing Parthiv Patel and Mohd. Yousuf in the very first over. In his 2nd over,he made sure that Punks were in total control as he removed Chanderpaul and Manoj Tiwary back-to-back. Jaguars were struggling at 22/4 after 3 overs. Jadeja walked in at no. 6 and batted out of his skins and added 91 runs along with Saha. They were in total control after 16 overs and needing just 21 runs off 4 overs. Sachin tossed the bowl to Luke Wright and he turned the match completely by getting Jadeja and Saha both in that over. Jaguars eventually were all out for 160 and fell short by 6 runs.
Nuwan Kulasekara for his figures of 4 for 25 off 3 overs was named the Man of the match.
